I could see that happening. They could have an immunity to red lyrium and the powers of the red templars, it could be a a fun sister race to the dwarfs. I could see them having a cross warrior mage or rouge mage class. Oh, fun idea instead of a just an immunity they could a hive mind with the red lyrium.
I'm a bit more curious as to why the Dwarves ended up underground in the first place. Realistically due to their virtually identical physical make up to Elves and Humans and Qunari, barring size and everything they are all related in some way, especially since they can procreate with on another, at least the Humans/Elves/Dwarves. So if they were born not by some divine creation, but evolution of some type, and broke off from whatever primordial race all the known races came from eons past, what drove them to go underground so long ago? Did the Elves persecute them, did Red Lyrium draw them there, or the Old Gods? Maybe some other catastrophe or force. How did an entire race of people decide to go completely underground and shun the surface entirely? Such migration doesn't just happen by chance or at random.
I greatly enjoy anthropology and it's one reason I've enjoyed DA so much, because it definitely feels like BioWare has thought this kind of stuff out, even if we haven't seen all the information, they at least have rough outline of it somewhere.
