Since Hawke will be able to return and the Warden Commander may or may not return in some way shape or form in Inquisition it would be nice if one of the default human male options was the SA/Calling Trailer version of the Warden.  I always liked that face the best and would mod my game to make my male human look like the trailer version.

 

 

 

 

I know since you can import your warden a modded face won't show up correctly, if the warden even shows up at all. But given the Laidlaw tweet "IF we were going to have one of your previous characters appear, we would absolutely give you a chance to change his or her look." I would like to scroll about and see the trailer Warden one of the pre-made choices. 

 

It always struck me as odd that you had to mod your game to get the characters to look like the trailer but it wasn't that much effort and I liked the look.

 

 

Edit: Come to think of it you also had to mod in that armor too! haha, Here is a perfectly good looking set of armor and face from the commercial and you cant find either in the game without mods!

As a default for a M!Warden, I can see this being a nice option. I also like the rumor of Meer and Hale being the VAs for our M!Warden/F!Warden. I think it's a good "comprise" for our voiceless Wardens.

Yah, I would prefer a silent Warden but if I have to make a compromise, nothing is better than 'Warden Commander Shepard'.

Cant be my default warden, only played one male to end and many females to end.  Besides, the Warden will have a CC capable for her/him.

I always thought that trailer was odd in that it made Leliana and Morrigan look like teenagers yet made the Warden look 40-50 when all the origins have you playing a young character.

That would be a nice compromise.  I know my favorite warden voice actor is no longer with us, Robin Sachs was the voice for the Experienced Human Male.  Also Sachs voiced Harrowmont and Murdock and many other characters in the game and Zaeed Massani in ME3. He did a great job in all those roles!

True but in the Origins CC you weren't able to recreate the trailer warden, which is why people put in the effort to mod the face in.

You are right, the trailer version of both Leliana and Morrigan look younger than in game, though I don't think super young, maybe 19-21 range and in game they look mid to late 20's.  But the Warden looking 50? That's a bit of a push. I'd buy later 20's to mid 30's but not 50. But I guess that also is influenced by the 50-year-olds we both know in real life, maybe the people I know in their 50's are more weathered than the ones you know! haha.  But you are right, all the origins I remember were youngish people.

 

 

 

Random question, the only origin I never played was elf mage.  Is that different from the human mage in any real way? I always assumed it was just a mix of city elf/mage interactions so I never bothered to play that origin having already done human mage and city elf.

I for one hate this idea. Not just because I'm not much of a Hale fan, but I'd rather the Warden not be reduced to a walking Mass Effect reference.

If that's the way it was done I would agree but Ive seen the VA session clips with Meer and Hale on youtube and they seem professional and talented. I mean that is what voice actors do for a living.

 

If they did a 5 second cameo the likes of "I'm the Warden Commander and this is my favorite shop in Thedas" then yeah, don't bother, it's stupid and pointless. But if it's just a scene that makes sense for them to be there and the voice actors happen to be Meer and Hale, which is just a rumor at this point anyway, then why not?

I wonder about the warden showing up . I mean , if the guys had a trailer with Male warden and they will use that as his default face when importing.....what about us ladies ? what would a default female warden face look like ?

You must know some seriously weathered late 20's to mid 30's guys O_O the guy in the trailer looks like he's in the same age group as Admiral Hackett, Anderson, and Zaeed. I'm 30 and there's no way that guy has a possibility of being younger than me with that craggy and deeply lined face. They really constricted the warden's age in all the origins for whatever reason. You always have an age equivalent friend (Jowan, Tamlen, Ser Gillmore, Shianni/Soris) or an older sibling (Trian, Rika, Fergus) like say you want to make a cool grizzled old master mage with a long grey beard, you make him and yet the game treats him as a newbie apprentice who is a bit younger than Jowan. I think we have more leeway in DA:I though.

Yeah keep in mind Meer also voiced this guy.  So it might not be such a Shepard reference . . .

I wouldn't mind those two as voice actors at all.

Ergh...I really hate that warden look. He's just so....generic. Which is probably the point, but it's boring.
