I'm thinking of buying a new computer soon, but I would really like my achievements to be carried over to the new computer.

Especially the ME1 companion achievements.

Which files do I need to save and copy to the new harddisk? Does anyone know?

I'd suggest copying the whole Bioware folder in My Documents. The achievements are not written in save files, they are written in a separate player profile file. Not copying it will end up in losing all your achievements. I don't know if they are written somewhere else as well, copying the entire folder did the trick for me :)

I will never get  why some people do mind the achievements? Either you get them anyway while playing (and they're no good for anything but  bragging) or you have to do some stupid sh*t, nobody would do otherwise... like intentionally jump into yourdeath or do something over and over and over.

To me, they're a complete waste of time and effort and the proof, that not only donkeys do follow a carrot on a stick.

Companion bonuses from ME1 make your Shepard stronger, he/she gets regeneration among other thing. You get experience bonuses too.

And I don't look forward to unlocking hardcore difficulty again by beating the game, then beating it again to unlock insanity.

It's not about the showing off or braggin, it's about the in game bonuses.
