So, he's mentioned on a certain something-something.

Does anyone think he's had a lot of luck converting the Dwarves to Andraste's worship?

Do you think it'd appeal to the Casteless, who are forsaken by the Stone anyway?

Will any of your Dwarf Inquisitors be one of his converts?

What will they (and he) think of a Dwarf Herald of Andraste?

Doesn't he get killed if you do his quest? I never did that one again after I found out about that xD

He does but he's martyred for the Andrastrian Church.

I doubt he'd mind as this is one of the ways to get Sainthood in RL.

Besides, the endings are just rumors as we saw with Cullen.

Brother Burkel knew this was dangerous but he's bringing hope to a society which NEEDS some alternative methods of thinking.

RIP to him.

I really liked him.  There are minor characters in the dragon age series I absolutely love.

aside from him the guy in the bar where you get liliana "I'm NOT THE BLIND ONE!!11!1!!1"

and the Hermit are amazing.  "Gimmie that"

I love Tapster's Assemblyman.

I wish I could make him King.

Amusingly, despite the comparisons to Christianity, Andrastrianism could be a big issue in the Dwarven Empire due to the way Islam worked out in India. The caste system was a pretty big deal way-back-when and Islam came with the statement, "everyone is equal under God." As you can guess, this kind of was, a "nothing to lose, everything to gain" sort of situation for the Casteless.

I could see something similar happening with Brother Burkel.

I can imagine the choices you made in reference to him will definitely at least effect codex and/or mission info on those war table small missions. You can also if I remember get the noble woman and her child struggling to live to coin the chantry. So you would of thought the chantry helping effectively the castleless would encourage dwarfs to pray to the might maker.

I don't think the Chantry is in a good shape that they can wage religious crusade war against Orzammar, given the current circumstances. I mean they have bigger concerns like the ongoing Mage and Templar war or the Breach rather than using the death of Brother Burke as an excuse to wage war.

Bah, Brother Burkel can take it back this hope is simply nothing more than an excuse to spread the Chantry's influence and interfere other way of life. I'm not talking about preserve suicidal and pointless abusive caste system for Dwarven society (I hate their caste system too), but the Chantry's lack of respect for another culture beliefs and how they try to interfere with everything is why I refuse to help brother burkel open a chantry in the first place, the last thing I want to see is some haughty human tell the dwarves what god they should believe in or how they should live. Human can trade with the dwarves, the caste system should be loosened, the castless should be given equal treatment and the Chantry can keep their nose to themselves.

Every choice in Dragon Age is a choice of evils with rare exceptions. If the Chantry can help improve the lot of the Casteless, let them. Maybe the Chantry will find some dwarven thinking will improve THEM too.

Besides, as the Shaperate says, "The humans will preach at us anyway. At least this way it'll be a dwarf doing it."

Yes, I often avoid speaking to him entirely, but I do enjoy the look of disappointment he gets if you respond with "good luck with that."  lol...  Regardless, it's for his own good and most of my characters respect the dwarves' right to worship the Stone, so they don't interfere (some of them are rude about it, but most are not).

I would agree to that if both the Chantry and Dwarven society can find a compromise and they are genuinely respecting each other. Alas, it didn't turn out that way considering how the dwarves can be very defensive of their beliefs while the Chantry looking to use Brother Burkel's death as an excuse to wage religious crusade war. I don't see anyone as good guy or bad guy here, both lacks of respect and sincerity for each other.

However you are right about one thing the Chantry can help improve life for the Casteless, the poor and the needy, but it'll never work unless the dwarves agree to let outside influences stay in Orzammar, and the Chantry has no ulterior motive, mean while Orzammar can take care of its own population should you pick the right ruler for the job, at least for a while.

Eh, it's the problem of religious freedom.

Religious freedom to believe one way means you have to allow someone to believe another.

So I let him have his prayer service.

Everything else is out of the Warden's hands.

I think this one line from the Warden sums up my belief on it personally.

"Would you rather wait for a human army to convert you?"

There is only one true god and only one true path to god.

It would be hilarious if the Dwarf Chantry sides with Dadga's Circle.

I stopped doing his quest since it gets him killed. I doubt he's gotten a lot of traction without getting an actual building and funding, I think if there's been any big changes in orzzamar they've come from Bhelen.

Since as a rule I refuse to help the Chantry spread its influence, I almost never did his quest. Should I hear of any military intervention by the Chantry in Orzammar, that will make an alliance so much more difficult...

they already announced we will not be visiting orzammar :( i'm a little disappointed by it, unless there is a really good lore reason for us not going there.

Oh right, because when mages are killed by templars, oh that annulment was an injustice.

Chantry officials murdered during peaceful protest though?

...Oh that's fine.

Bloody hypocrites.

If I ever play a Dwarf Inquisitor, I plan to play a Chantry worshiping one.

Brother Burkel saved my soul with his traveling salvation show!
