Importing modded armor to edit and use in the toolset

How on earth do I import armor from mods?

Extract the models, extend the appropriate GDA/s, create items using those appearance IDs. Exactly the same as using any other custom assets.

You may need the mod's author approval to use their stuff. Check the permissions. :)

Extract the files by opening the toolset, open the erf file that contains the armor and choose the items you want to export. You can specify what folder you want them extracted to.

 

If the custom armor mod is in the packages/core/override folder, you should be able to see it in the toolset.

You don't need pyGFF for Origins. The ERF and GFF editors built into the toolset or the standalone ones in the toolset directory are sufficient (and much more user-friendly).
