I'm not for a caste system, but I'm even less for a autocracy. Hitler did a lot of good things before he started putting people into furnaces after being given more power.

The Merchants love him for giving them better trade opportunities. The Warriors are divided but have to respect his military successes against the Spawn.... I could go on.

I think people forget that actually decent (In so far as them being actually competent with their power) dictators have been responsible for some of the greatest works that have ever been completed in history, much as i loath the Imperium, it was through them that Imperial highway was created, a roadway spanning probably three nations and its still intact a thousand years later.

You're not a writer are you? It's very difficult to write without imbuing some bias into it. You can try and I really respect it when artitsts do, but at the same time the most influential pieces of someone's work are usually those shaped by their views. George Carlin wouldn't have been  anywhere near as legendary as he is if he didn't insert his views on religion and politics into his act.

Everyone remembers that famous episode of Thomas the Tank Engine when thomas asks the conductor if he'd like to go for a train ride, and the conductor goes "**** you Thomas, I'm not going on the train, I'm going IN the train."

Not everything is shaped by a persons personal views man, in fact I'd say a good 80% of a narrative story isn't shaped by a persons personal political leanings or beliefs, but rather on their sense of quality, which is a seperate entity in most people.

Celene is all pro-elf (just because of Briala really, otherwise she wouldn't give a rats ass about the elves) but she would kill them in a hearts beat if her beloved throne was in danger

I think thats the point where I began to like Gaspard more than Celene

She cares about the elves, she just did what she thought she needed to do to stay on the throne. No doubt Gaspard would do it in the same position.

 

Let's not forget what privileges she gave to the elven people. Gaspard is racist and admits it, while breaking all sorts of rules just to get the throne.
