You know maybe she already loves someone else. Maybe she is trying to make the world better /safer for him/her.

For anyone that's curious, this is what Allan had to said about Vivienne not being available as a LI:
http://forum.bioware...0#entry17264508
It's something that I don't want to spoil since it is a part of her story. It's something that, when I learned about it, made me go "Okay that makes sense." At least for me. I'm sure some will disagree.Note that this doesn't mean someone can't be disappointed because they found her attractive, or that specifically because she's a prominent woman of colour, it sucks to not be able to romance her specifically because our games haven't historically had anyone like her at all.

Varric loves his crossbow and Cole has the mind of a child so no romance for them is understandable but why no Viviene romance?
I'll bet she's a spy! She's probably going to betray the Inquisition! I'm locking her in the dungeons as soon as she joins my party! I'm on to you now Viviene! You can't fool Inquisitor Frogtoad!
Bioware doesn't need a reason to not make her a romance. But if there is one thats fine too.

She's a strong independent black woman who don't need no man.
In all seriousness, Vivienne's romance would have been awesome. She's my second choice after Cassandra. I just don't see why she couldn't be one of the extra romances they added during the extra development time.

Wow, she's the only person that I was interested in as a romance option. I guess my inquisiter gets no love. It would have been nice to finally romance a beautiful black woman in a bioware game...oh well I guess they have their reasons.

What is generally the Circles' stance on romantic relationships? Once you crack that "mystery" then you have the reason why Vivienne isn't interested in such drivel.

That's too bad. Although I always pictured in an unattainable way. Don't know why.

I actually don't mind much she's not an LI. It's refreshing that a powerful, badass, independent, and gorgeous woman doesn't want in the hero's pants.

Maybe she's the asexual companion some people were wishing for on another thread.

Romance is not just about getting in another's pants. It's also about finding someone to share the world with, and someone who helps you be a better person.

I'd have liked Viv as an option, but in a way I'm glad they didn't make her romanceable. I'd find it uncomfortable if every major female character in DAI was/is an LI, cos I don't like the implications. Of course, the ideal solution would have been to have more female characters in general and also Viv as an option.

What implication? There isn't an agenda behind everything, and contrary to political correctness, most people are sexual beings, only the very rare exception isn't. People, and especially feminists, should stop seeing boogie men behind every detail. THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU. Bunch of self-centered pricks.

It's not a big deal really. The game has you covered on Romance. Characters can be interesting and complex without sharing a bed with them. Not to mention were they to add her no matter the orientation, it would throw of the ratio and people will complain and Bioware already has enough cans of worms open.

Wow. Is it really necessary to insult me and others for stating an opinion? I didn't insult anyone and I don't see what made you think you had to hit low in order to state yours. Geez.

alriiiighty then. It's comments like that which start flame wars and get threads locked. No need for insults when they weren't being hostile in the first place.

It fits her character to not be a romance. She is too cool for the inquisitor. It's part of her haughtiness. If the inquisitor were to flirt Vivienne she'd simply say "Oh, that's so adorable dear. But please," leaving the Inquisitor confused, then baffled, then frustrated, then just sad.

Can't romance them all. This isn't a Dating Sim after all. Could be she is just not interested. I see no need for a in depth explanation.
