I'm finishing with Dragon Age Origins with one last solo nightmare as a warrior. Help!

I've played this game so many times, but mostly on normal. I've soloed with arcane warrior on hard difficulty once, and it was pretty easy.

Now I want to do one last challenge before I am finished with DA:O. I want to solo nightmare the entire game without any DLC promotional items and campaign rewards; those are items that you are given as soon as the game starts and I will destroy those on start.

I will play warrior since rogue/mage is easier to solo.

I've already started playing as dual wield warrior, and getting my ass handled to me. After Circle of Magi.

I upped dex to 36, including fade bonus, then used all stats to strength. I can kill enemies pretty fast, but my character is dying in less than 10 seconds if surrounded by multiple enemies. I'm spending like 20 health potions per fight, which is straining my treasury. I've gone berserk/templar for mental resistance bonus and damanage bonus.

I especially find it difficult to battles dragons. when dragons grab me, it takes 95% of health away, resulting in almost always insta death despite having the best armor I could afford. When I get stunned, I usually die before my character is free.

What's the best build for dual warrior on solo nightmare, and are there any tips? Thanks.

Never tried this build, but perhaps weapon Runes might be of aid.

Try focusing on physical resistances since you don't have shield wall or indomitable

I'm pretty damn late to this, so it may or may not be of any help. But whatever...

In general, you want a solo build to be optimised as much as possible. Sadly, 36 dex and the rest into strength... isn't. Mostly because the rose's thorn is so damn good that even if you're strength based it's your best offhand weapon (which makes dex above 24 mostly wasteful). I'd also say that going dagger/dagger dex is a stronger build, given how helpful sky-high defence is. Of course, dual wielding large weapons isn't unviable solo, I just wouldn't recommend it for your first time.

At any rate, armour (and spell resistance) are the only things in your build you can rely on to stay alive, which means they both need to be high. Any time you're facing mages you want to be wearing knight-commander's plate and spellward, plus enough other resistance to hit 100%. You also want to be wary of archers and two-handers, since sunder and shattering shot will make you die quickly. For dragon fights you want the most armour and hp you can manage to survive the grabs (preferably with some buffer). Lifegiver is amazing here (aside from KCP, I'd recommend it as the first "big" item for pretty much every solo build), and look for the usual high armour suspects for your other equipment (evon's + wade's heavy is as great as it always is). Health regen can also actually cut down your potion usage by a ton in drawn out fights (with berserk, rose's thorn, evon's and lifegiver my DW managed to do flemeth without a single potion, though the high dragon needed 2 or so).

More important than your build though is how you position yourself in a fight. A dragon can't grab you if you always stay on its hind legs. And a fight where you'll be overwhelmed in the open can instead be easily won if you're in a nook where only 1-2 can engage you at a time. So always look out for how you can abuse the environment to help out in a fight. If you're using 20 potions in a single battle and it's not an elite boss, I'd usually consider that a failure -- there should almost always be a more efficient way of taking the fight.

("credentials": solo'd about 10 characters in DA:O, including 5 warriors)
