Yes and no but I am gonna to roll a PC for Dorian and IronBull, I do not do hetero romances in games mostly because I kinda tried of seeing that, although there are exceptions like BlackWall.
Are you going to try to RP a different gender for a LI?

I play as straight males only, so never was and never would play as females, never would romance males or romance lesbians by specially playing as females
i would not and not see any point to play in DAI as non-straight, human(i am done with Shepard, Cusland and Hawke), female, non-mage(only rogue as dwarf)
i would play as male elf/kossith mage
and dwarf rogue(for me "rogues" would always be a warrior class with two swords..i not play as warriors in DAO and was a rogue with heathy armor and 2 swords and bow...i want this system back or i do not see any point to play as non-mages)

Romances can be an incentive for me to RP as the opposite gender but it's not the only one.
When I decide to roll a male, I also decide to roll a different race and a different class for the sake of variation and because I came up with a concept that looks fun to play.
Romances are just an aspect of this that I may pursue or not.

Yup. I'll be fem quizzing it up for Cullen, and maybe Solas eventually. I like playing as both genders in games though, so it isn't like I'm putting out a huge effort. ![]()

I will, but the romances won't be the deciding factor for which character I choose to rp. The LIs are worked around what type of character i'm playing, not the other way around.

The same character type can be male or female, so you wouldn't have to compromise your principles by selecting gender for romance purposes-

Get out of my head! lol
I intend to do the exact same thing I want to see Cullen serenade my Femquizzy

I'll probably try a few of the female romance options while I'm playing a female Inquisitor, but I wouldn't say I'm playing a female inquisitor for those romances.
I don't think I roll female PCs for romance purposes. I roll them to see if they work for my personal canon of the series.

I know. What i'm saying is, I won't create a character with a particular LI in mind (e.g. I won't create a woman JUST so I can romance Sera, or a man JUST so I can romance Cassandra.)
I will create a character that I want to play as, then choose from the romances that are available to that character's race and gender.
I'm not a player who will plan my whole game around who i'm going to romance, I personally think that places way too much importance on a rather small, optional piece if content.
(I'm not bashing players that DO do this, i'm just saying that it would cheapen MY personal experience.)

Well, I almost always try, but I rarely enjoy it as much as playing as the gender I actually identify with, so I usually don't finish those playthroughs. I haven't truly "clicked" with a male character since Morrowind.
Initially, I was prepared to roll a male Inquisitor to romance Dorian, but I have since lost interest and would rather just watch the inevitable YouTube vids. Who knows though? It may be rekindled after actually meeting him.

Try? Yes. Give up on it and go back to my preferred gender? Probably.
This.
I will attempt to romance Cass in this game but my crystal ball tells me I will prob quit it half way thru. Eh m/f romances just don't capture my full attention tbh, I'll try but I sense failure.

I intend to try... but I don't know that I'll last long. I mean, I couldn't even play a male long enough to even START romancing Morrigan. Ah, well. I'm hoping to branch out this time. We'll see.

When the option for M/M is available I will play as a dude on my second playthrough. But I suppose if the LI option were someone repugnant to me like, say, Oghren I would avoid it altogether. Luckily that has not happened yet, and things are looking more than awesome with Dorian.

Not my first playthrough, for sure (That's reserved for Dorian). I have a handful of female PCs in DAO and DA2 but I haven't finished any of them, because I can only play them for so long before I start to get too uncomfortable.
For DAI, I might have an easier time of playing f/m if I roll a qunari, since the female qunari are bigger than anyone in the party (but Iron Bull) and I suspect we can make them rather masculine in appearance. But as a qunari, the only straight man I could romance is Blackwall, and I'm not interested enough in Blackwall to play out a straight romance. I might roll a lady qunari for Sera, though.
The only thing I'm really waffling on is Solas, because I really got my hopes up for his romance, and he's only open for the one race/gender/sexuality combination I've never wanted to play. I MIGHT still do it if I can create an elf who I can effectively headcanon as genderqueer or trans, but it won't be on my first playthrough.

I swear...if EA wanted to flood this game with DLC they could sell Bisexual DLC for all the companions and I'm convinced that will be their biggest seller over the Story DLCs and such.

Make each one exclusive to different platforms though, guaranteed system seller.

I know this is a snide comment, but I would sadly buy it since I don't like any of my options and my top option Cullen is not available. It's gonna be DAO all over again.I swear...if EA wanted to flood this game with DLC they could sell Bisexual DLC for all the companions and I'm convinced that will be their biggest seller over the Story DLCs and such.
