Will we see a linear start to DA:I or will we get an open choice from the start?

Do you think our quests choices will be linear to begin with? before we go make our own choices about where to go next?
I think it maybe linear first because the devs talk about the village of Haven, so 'big boom' with the rift opening, do a few quests cleaning up enemies, finding people etc, head to Haven, clear out Haven then it goes open world?
For me this would be good as a new player as it would help me do easy quests, get used to combat etc and then get thrown into the big wide world.
What do people think?

It will be heavily story driven, and as a result probably linear. A very specific event occurs at the start, but there may be little variances depending on your choice of race.
Don't expect an Origins type of start to the game however.

I'm betting it's linear until you get to Skyhold. Or, at least, if they give you choices on what to do or where to go while based in Haven, you have to do both/all of them before Skyhold opens up. But when Skyhold opens up, the "real" open choices begin...

Inquisition's story, choice, and consequence will most likely go like this chronologically; <>. Except you can keep on playing after the end.

Think the game start abit before the explosion. so you can find a vieuw things out about your background.
then you go or skyhold or your base in (heaven is it called dont know for sure) must have war table 2 and then hole open thing start out.
