I wanted to. I enjoyed the game

"Witch Hunt" DLC gave closure to my Warden who romanced Morrigan. The ending was perfect for me.
That's why I bought DA2.
I bought it because I loved DAO so much, and I wanted to give DA2 a shot, even though I knew it didn't have the most glowing reputation. As a game, it was okay, but to this day, I can't consider it a "sequel." I just tell myself that it's a fun game that has the occasional amusing reference to my beloved DAO.
OP, I actually saw that trailer after I played the game, and I wish so much that the game had been half as awesome as that trailer. ![]()
More Dungeons and Dragons fantasy which didn't suck.
I wanted to see if it was as bad as many reviewers claimed. It isn't.
I have quite a few games on my shelf that I've played for a few hours and now they gather dust*: Dragon's Dogma, Diablo 3, Fable (2?), and one of the many FF games. In contrast, I can recite most of the dialogue in DA2 from memory I've played it so many times. They must be doing something right.
In the grand scheme of things, DA2 is a great game, it just doesn't look so impressive when compared to Bioware's other offerings.
*Must get around to selling them at some point.
I bought DA2 because I love Dragonage!
Its the only reason I need
Mostly it was because I loved Origins so much, I wanted to see more of that universe, no matter the protagonist. I've never actually seen the ads for DA2 and, like Mass Effect, I was a couple years late to the party (I only started playing it this year). A part of me was drawn to it though because of how much hate it seemed to get on this forum, and I was happily surprised by how much I enjoyed it anyway.
I needed a big fat fix to the disappointment and unsatisfaction caused by DA:O.
I got what I wanted and even more.
Somehow, if I had just played DA:O it would now be long forgotten for me (except for "I once put 60+ hours in this game and it didn't deliver") but DA2 made me fall in love with the whole thing and need DA:I in my life.
Mine was:
I pre-ordered DA2 for the same reason, and have never regretted it. Yes, some of the common complaints - recycled interiors, etc. - have grated on me during my time with the game, but I enjoyed the different style of combat, I enjoyed the characters, and I liked that the plot told a more personal style against the backdrop of larger social issues.
I was expecting a Medieval fantasy version of Grand Theft Auto. I mean the whole thing takes place in Kirkwall aside from a few outside areas and DLC.
The game didn't deliver on that, but it was still great fun.
I enjoyed the game.
It wasn't as epic as the trailer, nor was it great as a follow up to Origins.
It stayed away from epic save the world type of plot and got me involved in some of the big issues in Thedas.
Mine was I finished DAO and wanted to play more.
To be perfectly honest, when I bought it I just wanted something to pass the time till Witcher 2 came out. But I'm a fan of the genre so eventually I'd play it anyway. Plus the combat is better than DAO's so all the more reason to try it out.
I'm a gamer. I enjoy the gameplay aspect more than the story and I'm usually pretty quick to break it. The promise of a more polished and interesting combat experience is enough for me to buy it and while I can think of a lot of problems with DA2, it actually delivered what it promised despite the short dev time. It took me a while to break it.
If the marketing wasn't so goddamn awkward and childish I'd probably be more excited to buy it than I was.
I bought it because Bioware always delivers games I enjoy. DA2 was no exception.
Just finished DA2 for the 10th time, It was my first Legacy play thru, It was pretty good. Still no Origins, But at least I feel I ready for DAi
Mine was:
That was my reason as well.
I was waiting for Mass Effect 3 to come out, a few months before, and I wanted to play another game that implemented the choices you could make into the next so, I bought Dragon Age Origins + Awakening & DA2 at the same time to pass the time, and I got hooked on Dragon Age from there.
Being a huge moron... that was my reason.
Mine was:
My reason as well. I thought DA2 was gonna be good, firstly I was dissapointed. But thank the Maker for the PC version mods! Wouldn't have tolerated the vanilla version.
These are the reason, the only reason for me buying Dragon Age II.

I love Dragon Age Origins sooooo much that I created alot of edited images of the game. When I finished the game, I realized that I needed more. So I play it again, and again, and again. I lost count how many playthrough I did. It's alot I promise you. So when Dragon Age II came round, of course I was excited to play. To see what the game have to offer. Well, you guys knows the rest of the story I guess...
