So, which is your theory on the Lady of Fire?

Andraste?

Or are we an Abomination like Wynne?

Someone blessed with the Secret Fire which has merged with us?

I'm cool with either.

Though if it's the former, I wouldn't be surprised if Andraste's spirit has BECOME a faith spirit.

(I think dead humans become spirits in Dragon Age)

I'm hoping it's neither to be honest, I dislike the idea of us being an abomination for obvious reasons and I really don't want Andraste and the maker thing to be true.

Well, Andraste can be true without the Maker being true.

But I'm guessing Abomination.

I hope they keep it mysterious.

Its generally assumed that all races have a soul but it unknown where they go. Personally i hope we are "spirit touched" always wanted to be spirit bound but retaining my mental faculties. That green spirit in the EoT trailer gives me hope

Are we servants of the Secret Fire, wielders of the Flame of Anor? If so, then sign me up!

There are all sorts of good and noble spirits in the fade so could be anything really, and would be a damm shame if its something that simple and would mean she didn't go to the markers side. :P.

Since would think she would be in the place beyound the fade.

So hoping its something different maybe a spirit of faith, hope or something else or a a lot of spirits working together.

Maybe what vengance/justice/anders did had a impact on the spirits in some way and now they see the tears and want to help out the mortals for a change instead of seeing them has a lost cause.

Just my two bits.

Edit: And based on what Justice said at the end of the quest where he joins you, no one dies and goes to the fade, the spirits have no more answers to such things then mortals do, though they think there is a place beyound the fade. Which seems likely since  the dead don't dwell in the fade, only dreams, spirits and demons and so on thus far.

Could the "hat" mean it is a servant of Andraste?  I mean that is essentially what Chantry members are anyway, right?

It'd be cool for this to be like an option, either have people and yourself believe that you are the Herald of Andraste or an actually fused abomination with a Spirit. I'll prefer the latter as a mage.

I agree, but beyond that, something about this post makes me lol...

It'd be really cool to become an abomination. We already know demons/spirits can posses other living beings aside from mages. The theme would be a bit similar to Baldur's Gate 2 Slayer form of the protagonist and Spirit Eater from Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer.

The theme was used before and it worked good. It'd be great to see what current technology and BioWare's storytelling could do with it. Plus the scene from the "Enemy of Thedas" where Inquisitor is getting smacker around by his "evil twin" kind of hints to that... I hope :).

EDIT: Slayer was freaking terrifying btw. :)

Well she is at the epicenter of the explosion that opened the rift.

Also, comparing the inquisitor or Wynne for that matter to an abomination is misleading and incorrect.  By definition from the Chantry an Abomination is when a demon possesses and takes control of someone.  "All you ever were is gone and replaced by madness."

Wynne and even the inquisitor are not being controlled by others and as such do not meet the classical definition of an abomination.  IE they aren't possessed.

Also, the Inquisitor isn't necessarily a mage and thereby can't be an abomination.

I admit that 'Justinia gave the Inquisitor powers' ticks me off a little. It's just a stupid notion all around. If it weren't for the retarded looking hat no one would be making these leaps of logic.

Doesn't need to be true. The Fade may just echo what people believe, and belief has its own power regardless of whether it's true. Having said that, I agree, I do not want to be forcibly associated with a religion I dislike.

Anyway, I believe our Inquisitor's power comes from the Elder One, either by accident or by misguided intention, and the spirit woman was one of his spirit servants projecting an image that might mean something to the future Inquisitor.

Would you accept it being half-true?

That's generally how I see the Chantry and its teachings. Aspects of it have proven to be more or less correct, even if a few details may have been a bit off.

Technically anyone can, with help, become an abomination, it's just easier for demons (and benevolent spirits as well  for that matter, eventhough they tend to merge [more or less] with their host) to possess mages.

And all things considered as the Inquisitor was physically in the Fade it's not impossible for him/her to be possessed, even if he is not a mage.

No.  The technical definition of an abomination requires a mage-World of Thedas page 172.  Then again it also requires actual possession meaning the demon/spirit has taken control

Then what is is the difference abomination is a umbrella term

There are several differences:

1) An abomination has to be a mage, because the magic power of a mage allows a demon to affect the physical world as they would affect the Fade--with their mind.  Also possessing a mage allows a demon to use more of their fade based powers.

2) The actual fact of being possessed means by definition that you are no longer in control. If I have a spirit boosting my powers, but leaving me to drive the car, I am by defiinition not possessed.

Ex: Uldred most definitely stopped being Uldred when he became an abomination.  Wynne remained Wynne.
