EA doesn't care about cheating in general

witness the fiasco that has been live tournaments in the Tiger Woods series

the cheaters in that game were treated more harshly by Xbox live than they were by EA

Yeah, but EA is also part of the problem. They are the driving force behind the ME3 MP Store, because they like to make money out of it. That's why it's all RNG, and why people get frustrated with the store. This is why some of my real life friends have quit playing the game. They simply ran out of patience - after hundreds of hours - to unlock the Ultra Rares they wanted, and just gave in. It took me more than a whole year of pretty intense gaming to get there, so I can sympathise with people that just said, "Screw this!" Everyone has the right to have a full Manifest after investing countless hours. For the next installment, I say drop the ultra rares and drop the consumables altogether. You should not have to spend a million credits to get one Cyclonic IV. If this **** is fixed, you won't see any missile glitchers, credit haxors, or box of shame campers on rio. That is a guarantee!

I think RealKobeBean has hit the nail on the head really.  It is EA's greed that is fuelling the cheating.  When you have put more than 1800 hours into a game and still haven't managed to max out your manifest there is something seriously wrong.  Whilst I would never do it on Multiplayer (have on single player to achieve different outcomes etc) even I'm starting to get annoyed by the volume of people with less than 500 hours and with full manifests and tons of credits which are not backed up by their profiles.

The only way to solve it would be I think by totally revamping the store - that isn't going to happen if DA:I is anything to go by plus EA are making too much money to change it in favour of the actual gamers'.   What annoys me is when you have supported a game from outset which was an unknown (Mass Effect) at the time, it becomes hugely successful and companies like EA come along and ruin it by excessive greed.  I know they have to make money but it would be interesting to have a breakdown of how much on a daily basis from all the micro-transactions.  Personally, I earn credits in-game but there are people who spend real money on it.

Another issue which seems to be occurring more and more are disconnects mid-game.  I'd not really suffered much from these but over past 6 months or so get one every 6 or so games resulting in lost stuff.  Not a problem when you cheat to get credits but hugely irritating when you earn them legitimately.  I even wonder sometimes if the latency is deliberate on EA's part but that's just me being very cynical.

You will always get cheating in online video games, to think otherwise is totally naïve but I fear it won't be long before it becomes common place in ME4 as well.  Within a few weeks would be my guess, sadly.

Thanks for saying that!

Revamping the store would be easy, really. Just make the store like the SP version of it, where you can pick which weapons and kits you wish to unlock. That way, it's less of a grind and more fun. Personally, I have made the mistake of spending real cash. What can I say, I got desperate. And to be honest, the pay-off was pretty low. Never doing that again.

Yeah guys, I would stop paying cash for packs until they refine the store system. I have no problem with the microtransactions BUT when you're not guaranteed to at least get an UR? That's just stupidity to me personally.

Yes, they are two entirely different things. I agree with you fervently that they are different things.

I also didn't say that you said what you seem to think I said you had said. I also didn't say what you seem to think I said, and so you quote it as if I said it so that you can disagree with it but the fact is that I didn't say it. What I said was in fact different, so that what you replied to as if I said it and what I said are not the same. Two entirely different things.

In that case, how do you define online support? It seems we our definitions do not match up.

Yeah, I felt like a fool afterwards. No certainty, at all, but I spent my cash anyway. Turns out, I had worse luck with the store, compared to my normal drop rate.

I don't have to define anything. You seem perfectly capable of having this argument by yourself. Do feel free to find someone else's posts to deliberately misunderstand and then argue with, okay? Bye bye now.

By the way, your picture is upside/down and color inverted. I'm scared.

May I suggest that perhaps your pic is upside down and inverted. Might be a lesson on our ways of thinking and how we perceive our world.

I used to think I was smart until I was outwitted by an Australian hill billie when I visited Oz a couple years ago. (True story)

So far the only one here that's trying to argue anything is you.

I gave an explanation as to why the cheating is not going unpunished because the team moved on and all that's left is server support. Then you came along and said how it's common for multiplayer games to be kept alive for some time. Which I affirmed.

Then you went on to throw a temper tantrum on how tiresome it is that people are amazed that a game is being supported, whose only reason I can imagine being you having interpreted my earlier comment about no one having had guessed the MP would be such a success as the former. Which is not the case, because I meant active support as in continued patching, balancing, creation of new content, etc. (all of which is no longer happening), which in turn was the reason I asked you how you define support, because I came to guess you misunderstood my stance as pictured above.

Then you threw your latest temper tantrum and paint me as some unreasonable troll who's deliberately misunderstanding you, when I have made all effort to the contrary.

Which, in case you haven't noticed throughout this very post, is still an ongoing process.

So, if you're done with aforementioned temper tantrums, can we get back to a normal discussion, or are you continuing to stomp the ground and pout like some immature kid who didn't get his instant gratification candy?

I will say that cheating was unsporting, and EA did change some game elements in order to prevent the missile glitching ( yeah they were unsuccessful ).   As is was I only played about three matches with missile glitchers ( and reported all of them ).   I found a large pool of honest players and had a lot of fun playing.

I would hope that they learned from the ME3 game and will make it more difficult to cheat in the next game.

I used to have the highest legit score in Aegis Wing.

Seeing those 6 cheaters above me was infuriating.  They were fools and I ate them.

Agreed. I cannot say how much fun I had/have with this little multiplayer game!

I'm glad to see some people are concerned about cheating in the gaming world. Thanks to posting your points, wishes and complains about this subject! More this thread will be replied in, more chances games makers (and shareholders) from Bioware will read it and integrate it in their future decisions. This forum is important and can be a usefull tool to be heard.

By the way, for all PC games lovers, like me, remember that if games makers don't want to make games for PC anymore, cheating is one MAJOR reason for this.

Oh, I forgot. Why caring, it's just games...

Good to see that you understand at least some of my points. That's all that matter to me, even if your post smell the troll at 1 miles. :¬]

But I don't "ate" you, except if you cheat.
