Thoughts after a day abroad

In fact, after a midnight release I came home and fired up ME3.
As a friend said, "this game scratches an itch that other games just aren't able to do."
I don't see that other game having the same staying power.

ME3 MP>De$tiny
Any day. Plus Destiny looks so blurry on my 360 my eyes start hurting after fifteen minutes. I honestly wasn't expecting that ...

That's pretty much my opinion.

I agree there is an itch this game scratches that others don't. That's certainly why I still play fairly regularly despite enjoying so many other games since.

I enjoyed Borderlands as well, but I played through once and that was enough. For whatever reason it didn't engage me like this game has. In that regard I don't see myself playing through Destiny again upon completion either. As a big Borderlands fan, this sounds surprisingly good

All told I probably spent $80 on ME3. Between SP an MP I've probably put in about 1500 hours. That's about 5 cents per hour of entertainment.
Destiny cost me $95 (I bought the expansion pass). If I get 90 hours out of it I'll consider that a success (I'm being generous here as 90 hours in itself would be a great feat), and it will have cost me over a dollar per hour. While it is a good rate it is nowhere near the realm of ME3.

50 million dollars of overhype.
Don't know if that is even 50 million. I feel like the lead designer has probably pocketed a few million under some management pretense. Just a random thought, nothing concrete.

It reminds me of borderlands. Except it is prettier and less humorous.
So much this. Although the leveling system seems to be worse than Borderlands and much worse than ME3. I'm only at level 9 but so far I've had essentially no input into how my character has developed.
Oh, and I must mention the aim assist. I find it quite annoying in itself but it's ****** infuriating that there's no way to turn it off.

Destiny is 'not all that?'
Destiny is a refined version of Warframe to me. Loot system is similar to Borderlands. Some weapons even have special attributes like the red text weapons in Borderlands. Detail is very good, the weapon detail and even the action is very detail oriented. Storyline is nonexistent. Enemies are very reminiscent of the enemies in Halo.
Basically if Halo, Warframe, and Borderlands had a love child, Destiny would be it.
