Now that the excited discussion about the multiplayer has died down a little I thought it would be interesting to see how many people, based on what they have read and seen, plan to play the DAI multiplayer or not?

 

Why is this poll in 'scuttlebutt'?

 

For one, very few (Pax) have actually played it, so there are some surprises still there for launch.

For two, putting the poll in the multiplayer section would by and large skew the survey to those who read that section already.

I haven't decided if I'm getting the game yet, but if I do I probably won't play.  MP every time I've tried it just gets boring really quickly.  If I could play through story missions with friends I would probably do it a lot, but when it's just fighting enemies in some area posing as an arena for the most part I just get bored.

 

Like in ME3, my friends hounded me until I tried it out.  But after the umpteenth 'survive', 'survive until extraction', 'hold the position' wave after wave it just got boring and I excused myself.

Once I played through the single player portion a couple of times, I might try the multiplayer.

Based solely on what little I have seen and read, I will not be able to play MP. My RL reflexes are poor anyway; even worse after my stroke, and Real Time combat is not for me as a rule, esp if their are others depending on my assistance.

If ME3MP was any indication, I'll probably play DAMP more. That doesn't mean I don't like singleplayer though. I usually finish the campaign 5 or 6 times before I get bored with the game. (Yes, I have no life )

I'll probably play a fair bit of multiplayer but I'm here for the single player - although I was surprised by how much ME3 multiplayer I ended up playing, this may be the same.

After I play through the SP 3 or 4 times, I might start playing the MP some.    A lot of unknowns at this point as to whether I will play it much at all.   I played a lot of the ME3 MP solo, so does that still count as MP?   It also depends on how much communication DAMP is going to require.    I played the ME3 only because on the PC at least it could be played in dead silence.   If DAMP requires people to talk and communicate then I will only be trying it solo period. 

 

It also depends on if their crafting system overcomes the inevitable RNG problem.    I played the ME3MP for about a month straight and was enjoying it early on.   Then they announce an upcoming expansion with playable GETH.   AWESOME, I thought... I would love to play as a Geth.   So for the next 2 weeks, I played saving up all the credits I earned in that time period by playing, some 500,000 credits.   On expansion release day, I spent them all on packs hoping for a geth character..... Nope, Nada, zilch.   Got nothing.    So much disappointment that I stopped playing ME3 multiplayer that day and have never gone back.

Given some missions and things will be time based just switch to mp while waiting, plus liked me 3 mp so want to try this.

I'm not interested in MP at all to be honest. 

I may play it, if only to get MP achievements (if there are any) - I did 100% on both previous titles, so holding that trend will be nice.

Wil definitely be playing DAMP, but primary focus will be on DASP.

I will probably end up playing multiplayer with some friends. First though I would like to play the game period.

After a few SP playthroughs, might check it out. Solo matches just to see the mechanic.

SP once, then I'll move on to MP just like I did for ME3. Spent 2 years having a blast on the ME3 MP, hoping the DAI MP is just as fun.

While I prefer SP in a game like Dragon Age, I will definitely try MP but I don't expect to be good at it. If I enjoy it and end up playing it a lot, my skills will improve and I'll likely want to play even more. So we'll see...

Heck Yeah I am playing DAMP.

 

So I answered I will likely play MP more the SP. I am comparing this to ME3. I completed the ME3 SP Campaign 3 times before I ever even tried the MP portion. All the Galactic Readiness aside, you could beat the game without ever stepping foot into MP.

 

When I did discover ME3 MP, it was when I had become bored of the game. Once discovered I played the MP well, well, heck, I still play it.
