Would rather play Ride to Hell: Retribution. If that tells you anything.

Despite my love of the ME3 MP, I have no interest in this game's.  The combat in Dragon Age has never been a strong point to me and we can already play different races in the SP, which was a big initial draw for ME3's MP.

Yes, of course! Does Dragon Age: Inquisition have a single player offline campaign?

Results pretty much as I'd expect really. Obviously people come for the SP predominantly. But DAMP is a nice extra to try out.

I'll definitely be playing a few games, but I doubt I'll invest much time into it - unless it has some really cool stuff.

With ME3's MP the appeal for me was in being an N7 (or other kind of soldier) in the great war against the Reapers, and having a unit in game that reflected this was neat.

With DA:I it'll be a completely separate mini-game. Sure, you're called an agent of the Inquisition, but at the end of the day you have nothing to with it and might as well load up Skyrim and call your Dragonborn an "agent of the Inquisition".  :P

Sometimes I really hate Bioware's "All or nothing aproach". I would've prefered the MP tied into the SP in some minor way, basically by getting you the same things as randomly murdering some random monsters would, or other minor stuff like that which could be gotten just as easily by playing SP a bit more, rather than being necessary to get the best end.

But instead all ties got severed completely because people got (understandably) upset over the poor interaction between MP and SP in ME3.  <_<

A cool thing that they could add would be having your MP characters randomly wander around Skyhold from time to time, wearing the badass gear you've earned for them in MP. That'd definitely give me incentive to play it.

I admit I haven't been keeping up, but I think it was confirmed the base characters will be seen in SP. No idea on gear though.

Oh! That's great news, thanks!  :D

That'll definitely motivate me to play MP more if it's true.

I don't have anything against multiplayer.  Congrats to those who were hoping for this.  I really am confused why it seems every single game needs to be multiplayer these days.  I don't care for it and I really hope that this is not the reason for the most recent delay.  I'd much rather see additional solo content or more polishing of the pre-release content than waste time on a feature that is absolutely unnecessary.

I love Mass Effect, the multiplayer wasn't all that great.  I love GTA5, the multiplayer is a bit dull.  I really feel like some games that are made for online or multiplayer should focus on that.  Single player games, especially RPGs, should focus on staying that way.  Just my own personal opinion.

Who knows, maybe it will be a great success.  I hope it is for those who really want it and for Bioware.  I won't be touching it.  I'll be too busy in the solo play storyline, as I did for DA1 and DA2.

Over a 100 hours of solo content isn't enough? Also the developers who work on multiplayer were mainly hired to create multiplayer content and they wouldn't have likely been hired if there was no MP. So they wouldn't have been available to polish the solo content nor would the extra resources used on MP even have been made available if there was no MP.

I also don't understand the comment on single player RPGs having to focus on SP only and nothing else. RPGs were the first to be turned into actual online games, MMOs. And the BioWare developers have claimed before they have always wanted the DA series to have an MP component, even as early as DAO but they never got it to work. Not to mention that co-op was featured in earlier BioWare games so this is a return to form.

Oh yes!!! Button mash to take out a horde of enemies in one room, gather loot, move to another room. Rinse and repeat. Sounds 'effin amazing, as well as original and innovative.

Thank god the base game looks absolutely magnificent; that along with the fact that Bioware seems quite honest when they say this MP is in no way tied into the main game, makes this bitter pill a bit easier to swallow. 4-player, destroy-hordes-of-enemies "co-op" doesn't feel, to me, like something that has organically grown out of Dragon Age. It feels like blatant fan service. But then again, who the hell am I to tell Bioware they can't have fan service in their game?

I've always been totally bewildered by the term fan service.  People would like and enjoy an aspect of a game therefore the game makers are dumb for providing such a thing whether it be a romance option a happy ending, mp or anything else.

The need for 'polishing' is just as likely to be applicable to SP as MP.

The MP has been in development for over two years after all.

The SP and MP will have been separately budgeted so one does not transfer to the other.

Many more people want to play MP than play as Rogues, for example, so judgments about what is necessary are pretty personal.

With MP now included in both the ME and DA franchises, I suspect they will now be a standard feature

as much as voiced protagonists are now standard.

Absolutely YES! I loved ME3's MP and if this is a natural evolution to that then I'm going to love it. I will not touch it until I'm done with SP at least once though.

I most definitely will. It sounds like a great idea, and I look forward to enjoying it (that might have to wait until I'm done with single player, to be honest.)

I think it's interesting that so much of the reaction is on the temperate to cold side against multiplayer. I would say I am generally not an online multiplayer "gamer" (I do like playing same-console multiplayer games however) but the more I've heard about DAMP, the more I'm convinced I'm really going to enjoy it. Collaborative, RPG elements, defined and voiced characters, no one can learn the maps so there is always an element of surprise...I don't know, it sounds pretty perfect for new MP players!

I hope everyone gives it a shot at some point and I hope it's as fun to play as it looks!

I will probably not play MP. But that is more than anything the likely case of me actually having other things to do.

So I I'll still express how absolutely delighted I am that MP was implemented in the way it is. Brilliant! I'm happy.
