And I wanna give him a spin.

Now, I'm not fond of melee, but this guy is all about melee. So, how to do him properly? I was thinking of tech armor 4B and 5B, Biotic Hammer 4A, 5B and 6B, Electrical Hammer the same, three ranks in passive and Rage 4B, 5A and... having real problems deciding where to put last six points. Any help appreciated.

Weapon will likely be GPS with High Caliber Barrel V and Blade Attachment V. I have Claymore, but don't have the first idea of how to reload cancel... might give it a shot later, but right now, not just yet.

Gonna give him a couple of Silver runs, just to learn the ropes but I'm hoping to take him to Gold later.

Any thoughts, ideas and help appreciated.

Put 5 points in passives to increase the Biotic Hammer force, Kills Scions in 1 hit.

Build

If you don't have venom, I'd prefer GPS over claymore. Stagger capability really helps him. Graal is another solid option.

I completely spec out of elec. hammer. Headbutt or running melee all the mooks. Reserve biotic hammer for bosses, and use it in the triple hit combo rather than the heavy melee style.

I use a GPS with Incendiary ammo or Disruptor Ammo, and use Electrical Hammer to set off combos all over the place. It's a great Geth Buster.

I'm not really very good with the warlord but i have played with some great ones and imo the biotic hammer rules,it does a ton of damage and hits like a truck!

also use something that keeps your cooldown low as your hammer is all you need,i'd say just just run acolyte as it helps you deal with barriers

theres also a huge chance of getting sync killed in this playstyle so watch out and keep your distance when it matters

you also have regenerating health and a ton of health but its not gonna keep you up for long under fire so dont count on it too much

You don't really need 6A on Fitness if you only want to reduce the Rage requirement: His sprint heavy melee is a bit buggy in that one kill with this will trigger Rage even if you have only one point in Rage.

You should decide whether to take more crowd control (Electric Hammer) or higher (single target) damage (Biotic Hammer).

I take Geth Scanner for more awareness.

Also: This might help you.

EDIT: Try to stay in Rage mode, so finish of enemies with sprint heavy melee when ever possible and save (Heavy melee with an active charge (Electric/Biotic) might not trigger it, since the power part of the attack might get the kill.)

I use a Venom with him. You can play him the oddest way, but most see him as a melee character...

I agree with the nightslasher's build. I would like to just suggest Some alternative weapons as venom can be hard to acquire.

Graal and GPS are good CC and has a nice range on them. The best mods on these two are the omni-blade and damage barrel. The other mods just don't have as much use.

Geth scanner is great as it provides situational awareness.

Btw does the heavy melee or light melee provide any DR?

Thanks for reminding me that I wanted to ask something about the guy.

I understand people who stack all melee and that rage is great, but I get a feeling that triggering rage animation every melee kill kinda gets in the way of killing. I also understand that faster regeneration and/or HP boost from fitness evos don't do much on higher difficulties, so 6a is desirable, and I also understand that you don't always have more than 1 mook to kill before engaging something big and mean. Sometimes it looks like you can cancel laughing animation with running melee or something like that, sometimes I feel I can't do sh*t over it.

I'll also add for the sake of making comparisions and stuff that I spec into 6a for melee kroguard because 3 kills are hard to stack while 2 isn't really (I play up to and including gold), but on the other hand kroguard is more mobile - he's smaller and doesn't have to run up to targets, so can reach (and that often means kill without wasting rage counter time) enemies faster.

So, about Krolord, what do you guys think?

P.S. I don't own one yet. Maybe some day. I want to be prepared for that.

Yes.

I do not know the exact numbers, but it's quite significant. Krogan heavy melee (the running one) also make us immune to staggers.

Chaining melee - combined with the DR we get from our armor and rage bonus - makes us extremely hard to kill.

Not to mention that his running heavy melee is bugged in a good way.

Thanks for the advice, will respond when I get back from doctor. In the meantime, I'll just leave this here, since people seem to be vastly over optimistic about my resources :D

The people who play the Warlord well have a talent for closing distance and never fighting at range. My difficulty with him has always been getting wiped by ranged attacks before being able to attack and get the DR. I don't have any useful advice there, just sounding the caution.

Since you don't have the Acolyte you don't have to do him all in pink. I think the Raider with HVB and Smart Choke would suit his style and manner nicely.

Lastly, Electrical Hammer seems to be fantastic against Geth, kinda good against Cerberus, useless against Collectors or Reapers. If you are playing mostly UUG, consider skipping Electrical and going the whole pig in Biotic Hammer.

I initially did not like this character at all, but lately I´ve had some fun using a 66066 double charge biotic hammer only build with Martial Biotic Amp V, AM3 and Strength Enhancer 3. My Omni-Blade holder of choice is usually the HVB Wraith on the Warlord (on this character I almost never shoot my gun as I just like smashing and slapping stuff around with him). If you just abuse the weight glitch with such a setup (not that you would actually really need to), the nominal BH cooldown is in the 5-6 seconds range (plus TA penalty).

In Rage mode every basic trooper unit should go down to a single running heavy melee (on Gold), a key is to keep rage going at all times. Sturdier small units such as Dragoons, Bombers, Possessed Captains, Pyros and Phantoms should nicely succumb to a single Biotic Hammer smash. Most bosses will bite the dust after a maximum of 3-4 triple melee BH combos. Your low CD effectively means that your hammer charge can be up at all times.

IIrc all that will still be true (on Gold difficulty) even if you spec his fitness for max health regen (which basically makes him immortal in rage mode except for sync-kills). AM3 helps a lot to get up close quickly. If (as opposed to me) you´re  actually going to shoot your powerful gun, you´ll probably kill stuff even faster.

Thanks for the tips. So here's some questions regarding melee. The sprint melee... how do you even do it? Run, hold the melee button, release it when connecting with target? Seriously, I only played like three games with krogan before, I have no idea how that works.

Also, on hammer charges. What expends them? Using the power after charging the hammer, or every melee attack? Every heavy melee? Something altogether different?

eww

I just knew somebody would went there :P Good thing to know some things never change.

Mordokai is an Asari. No shame there...

Now I'm imagining how the relationship between Valkyrie and Krolord would work out...

Flashy, that much is certain :D And they both come protected, so no worries there.

I'm not fond of Raider, though I blame this on my inability to use it properly. Very heavy, very inaccurate... sure, it packs a punch, but I don't know...

Also, here's a question that's been bothering me for some time now... does the protection from TA apply to health, shields or both?

Running melee is similar to the heavy melee of other krogans. To use it, tap the light melee key when running, as simple as that. It has a lock on feature.

You expend biotic hammer in two diff ways. Heavy melee expends a charge and the third hit in the triple hit light melee combo expends a charge. You don't expend charges or execute the attack by pressing the BH hotkey.

TA damage reduction applies to health and shields.

Sprint melee is simple; just press the melee button while sprinting. Automatically does it, it even staggers things around you that you don't hit, it's pretty awesome.

This guy is obscenely powerful. ESPECIALLY versus geth.

Doesn't his running heavy melee have an AOE which is why enemies sometimes die behind him?

This is why, in the post above THAT YOU IGNORED (not that I'm going to take it badly or anything  :P ) I said to put the SMART CHOKE on it. because it transforms that weapon.

As for the weight, if the Warlord can't carry it then who the hell can? Not some spindly Batarian, surely?

1: Choose a hammer, but only one hammer (otherwise you always seem to have the wrong one primed)

2: hit stuff until it stops moving

3: hit it some more to be on the safe side

4: chuckle maniacally

That's about it really,
