I also will say the scanning mini-game-sort-of-thing is PERFECT. I found myself going from planet to planet, buying fuel and probes, for about 45 minutes straight just to get resources so Mordin could upgrade my stuff.

So it doesn't get repetitive? Seems like it would after a while. But I can't wait to get my hands on it and give it a go!

Not really. There are 4 different resources you can get and it really doesn't take long to do it. The only one that is hard to find is element zero which is for biotics but you do not need much of it to upgrade your biotics anyway.

Ok I'm playing the game now. I just checked and I have 9 hours played. Any other questions? Stuff you want me to check around the Normandy? I'll have the game all night (he's letting me borrow it). So just ask anything and I'll check it out and give you my best possible answer.

So far it hasn't surprised me... but that's because I'm still recruiting my squadmates. I have Miranda, Jacob, Grunt, Thane, Jack, and Garrus.

Did you earn the loyalty of all your squadmates? Did you die on the suicide mission?

How's the pacing? Esp for the side missions. I've been replaying ME1 and as soon as I broke away from the main story and started doing side missions and exploring the pace started to drag.

Also I've heard rumors of a hovertank replacing the Mako. Some people say its DLC, some say its already there, and some say it doesn't exist. Any insight?

I've got a general question about planet exploration - in the last game, there were quite a few systems with many planets in each system. It became a bit tedious to recall which you had already explored/searched/etc. I usually wrote them down on a notepad so I wouldn't forget.

How does it work for the new game? Do they have some sort of marker to identify which planets you've explored?

Excellent question! Wish I'd thought of it... :)

Haven't come across any vehicles yet. Pacing is pretty fast. The side missions are pretty quick and you don't have to ride around in the Mako at all so there isn't that drag like in ME1.

I did earn their loyalty, don't want to spoil the ending but i'm pretty sure I suffered as little damage possible

Once you enter the orbit of a planet, it will display the name above it. Therefore, you know you've scanned it/checked to see if any anomalies were there.

Not only that, but on each star cluster and galaxy, there is a percent marker indicating the percent of planets you have orbited in that star cluster or galaxy.

You must have been rushing, because the pacing for me wasn't fast at all. If you take the time to talk to characters, do all of the sidequests and stuff it won't be fast at all.  As for the Mako replacement, its DLC that will be coming after the release.

Sorry to bug you again - when you say "it will display the name above it" I presume that means for planets you have not yet explored the name won't be displayed?  Or do you  mean since each planet has a name you should remember the names you've been to?

But thanks for all the great info!

I'm not saying they didn't take time. I meant they didn't drag on like make you say "omg when in this assignment gonna be over" sort of thing...

Ok I understad you now. :) I remember that feeling in ME, which was due largely to the fact that the sidequests were extremely generic and boring. In ME2 they are really unique.

If you have not entered orbit of a planet, no name will will show above it. It will just look like a sphere on a blue line.

And ask as many questions as you want. I made this thread to answer questions so I have no problem answering more!

Okay:)I guess my last question would be what is your favorite part of the Normandy? And Your fav character so far. And Ejon I'm interested in your opinion too.

Yeah, and you don't have to drive around in the Mako for 20 minutes to get to the location, then walk into a building that looked exactly the same as the one in the last assignment you just did. That's really where the drag came from for me.

Ditto. No wonder my renegade FemShep is so pissy...she's annoyed with Mako exploration too!

My favorite part of the Normandy would be the Tech Lab because upgrading your ship and armor and weapons is so much fun.
As for characters, I'm not exactly sure yet. All of them are interesting, but so far my favorites are Grunt, Mordin, and Thane. I do not have Legion and Tali yet though.

Sounds like they really improved that aspect. The completionist in me is jumping for joy now that I don't have to keep a running log. Thanks again!

After what happened earlier today, doing that is just begging to have the thread locked down. I really don't consider these spoilers. We're talking features, not plot. Really the idea behind a "spoiler" is it ruins the story.

My favorite part of the Normandy is the Labs. I love the new upgrading system. My favorite character is Miranda. I learned some pretty interesting stuff about where, or "what", she came from. Don't want to spoil it though :P
