Honestly, I wish they'd remove the voice altogether or at least give us the option to turn it off (or make you press a button to turn it on, rather). It was an annoyance, really. I can read about 5 times faster than the narrator speaks his lines, and it's distracting trying to skim the entries while someone is yammering in my ear.

I don't like the voice either, but only because sound files are so size intensive. I just don't think it's worth it to voice some deadpan history lessons.
