That's why I said it's ambiguous. It's paper thin at best. But the implication in that exchange is that Anders was looking for an excuse to talk to Nate. If this is all the evidence they've got though it's pretty damn weak.

lol... Anders talked to everybody.  All companions talked to one another... that's why it's called "party banter."  xD   Yeah, I know people don't like to admit when a retcon occurs, but it's better to face facts that cling to delusions... I mean, so what if it's a retcon?  He's bi now, that's all that matters.

Maybe dealing with comic book retcons for decades has given me perspective on this... it used to bother me but it happens so often it's not really a big deal.  These retcons are minor by comparison... comic book retcons often involve entire universes being rewritten.

I agree with you up to here

Gaider can say that all he wants, but it did not come across at all in Awakening

Going by your logic if I don't immediately tell you about my bisexuality and a while later I tell you that I am you'll say that I'm a completely different person. Honestly in real life, I don't mention a single thing about my experiences or attraction to men unless it's relevant or brought up.

By that standard, Anders also hit on his cat.

Silly, Snook. That's called a painting. Gods aren't paintings.

Painter must have gotten the maker to pose like that doe.

Anders could be joking, or he could be flirting.

Well, he did seem rather affectionate with Ser Pounce-a-Lot... you don't... you don't think that he lied to Hawke about the real reason the Wardens took him away...?

Dumat>your silly vision of an old man on a rock in your dreams

Who ever said the Maker was an old man? He's only ever been depicted as a cloaked figure.

I don't give any developers the benefit of the doubt after George Lucas.

However, I don't really mind him being retconned as having had a male lover in the past.

I do think it led to some people believing the whole "Hawke sexual" thing, though, which is problematic.

It is clear to me that when people refer to the "maker" they are actually referring to a representation of Bioware.

No4) In the epilogue for DAO, Cullen can be Knight-Commander or gone completely mad depending whether u saved the Circle or not. So I read that all these are actually rumours. It is weird that having promoted to knight-commander (if u eliminated the mages), Cullen would have to be demoted to knight-captain in DA2. I mean how can a promotion in Ferelden be a rumour???? Everyone knows who is the knight-commander. it cannot be just a rumour. The 'running away and becoming crazy' though can be because he was sent to Kirkwal and people just making up stories about his disapperance. but not a promotion.

Anyway, does Anders filrt with both female/male wardens in DA:A?

4) Those two were rumors. What happened really was that Gregoir send Cullen first to level his head in some kind of sanitarium (I can't remember the name). After that he was sent to Kirkwall's templar order. There Meredith noticed him and how his views were close to hers and promoted him to Knight-Captain.

The ending slides of DAO were mostly confirmed as rumours I think.

He wore that to hide the bald spot. I mean if he was real. Which he isn't.

The link is appreciated, but I don't get it...

How does two men talking mean that one of them is gay?  It seems like one hell of a stretch if this is the conversation that idea is based on....

I thought the flirty dialog Anders had with Nathaniel was the one about the robes and Anders replies in a particularly flirty tone:

"Not when I'm naked I don't!"

Yeah, that sounded like flirting to me. Light flirting, maybe, but flirting all the same.

Bald spot?  Come on now, a god called "the Maker" shouldn't have to rely on Rogaine to regrow his own hair...

"I'm fond of the Howes, the Whats, and The Whys!"

Yeah, that was totally Anders using code.

Trust me.

The maker is the guy who came up with the Dragon Age universe. I thought it was plainly obvious.

Well, that's more compelling the the previous example, but I'm sure I heard this dialogue in the past and never got that impression from Anders...

He let himself go, you see. He was evicted from the Golden City, down on his luck. Then he sees this beautiful woman, just kneeling in the forest at night. And he's going to chase it down like a darkspawn on the Call. But he has to hide that or she wouldn't be interested.
