On my end?

It was when Alistair greeted me so warmly in Awakening.

The two of them had become bitterly broken up over sparing Loghain.

But Alistair clearly forgave my Warden.

And they were going to reconcile.

I suspect because Alistair sent Loghain to Orlais.

:-)

One that I particularly like (and rarely see) is romanced-In Love-and-unhardened!Alistair blurting out "I love you" after the whole ugly Goldanna thing. (Or really, mumbling adorably into his shirt front.  :P)

Some others were my when my first Warden, a Tabris, encountered Gauntlet!Shianni. (I was absolutely convinced that meant she'd died after Kallian left the Alienage with Duncan.  :o)

And Moira Cousland seeing Gauntlet!Papa Bryce again even made me cry, even though we both knew he wasn't real. (Pup... he called her Pup again... *hysterical weeping*)

For me, the most emotional moment evah, though, was very sad and lonely King!Alistair eulogizing Poor!Dead!Surana. *sobs like a babby*

In Awakening when my "Queen" human noble met her husband, King Alistair, he gave her a crappy kiss on the cheek. I thought it looked as though they were distant at that time :( Very sad...

The funerals were the saddest ever.

Leandra dying.  My mum had just been diagnosed with breast cancer when I got to that part of the game, and I was inconsolable.  Mum's better now tho.

Awww... From the way she smiles, I always think it looks like Alistair is whispering something incredibly filthy in her ear.  ;)

Yes, that's how I interpret that too - like he's promising her something *very* baaaaaaaaaad for when she finishes her work at the Keep, and gets back to Denerim...   :D

And your mods are not very bad - I installed your Banhammer mod, and I find it very not bad!  ;)

1. When my Warden kissed and... Leliana the first time.

2. If you save both the werewolves and elves in Nature of Beast when the werewolves say goodbye to the spirit as she vanishes. There is a tenderness and intimacy in that scene that hasn't been repeated since. Ive played the game at least 20 times and it still chokes me up.

Bryce Cousland in the Gauntlet.  Makes me sob every time.

And seeing Fergus at the end, got me really choked up the first time and every other time I've seen it.  It's nice to know, regardless of the origin you play, that Fergus survives Ostagar.

The final little goodbye sequences at the Denerim gate never fail to get to me a bit. Particularly Morrigan's for the female Warden/Morrigan friendship path.

Claudia Black knocked the "Live well, my friend. Live gloriously." line out of the park so much, at least some eyeball sweat occurred.

Another one that was a bit of a gut punch was Leliana's if you romanced her and opted to leave her at the gate and go fight the Archdemon without her. She basically tells you to go win, and to 'come home' after you do - but I always felt like there was a slight tone in her voice that indicated she half-though she wasn't going to see the Warden again, despite her usual optimism. And the one playthrough where I got this dialogue was the one where my Warden didn't get Alistair to do the ritual, and killed the Archdemon herself...so she was right.

:(

That too, particularly for a female Dalish who was implied to be more than just his close friend.

For a character I knew for 5 minutes, that was rough. Actually ran away and let the party kill him instead. :C

I haven't reached that point with a female Dalish yet. I have completed the origin with one now and triggered the Tamlen romance, so I'm curious to see how that will influence the later encounter.

The Dalish and the Cousland origin are the most emotional for me. A lot of people seem to find the Dalish origin weak, but I always have the Dalish resist conscription by Duncan and that makes the final scene when you say goodbye to the clan very sad.

The Human Noble having to leave their mother and father behind...

Leliana's song about the elves in camp...

The conversation with Zevran about the mission before he agreed to assassinate the Warden...

and...

The flashback in Return to Ostagar while looking at King Cailan's corpse...

Especially when you find out the Warden leaving and Tamlen's death is still a bit of an open wound for the clan in DA2. Merrill still doesn't seem to be over it several years later.

Still my canon Warden's origin. I just like the tragic, closed-off outsider sort of feeling it brings, along with the little impacts it has in the long run in Witch Hunt and DA2.

When Alistair, standing over the Warden's body, said "I thought we'd be together forever."

Brilliant bit of voice acting by Steve Valentine.

These are mine that come immediately to mind:

Duncan looking up at the beacon in the Ostagar cut scene.

Niall in the fade got to me in my latest play through - “take the litany from my body”. Poor man, after trying so hard to help everyone too.

And as already mentioned, Zevran's story.

Telling the Dog to be good before you go off to fight the Arch-Demon.

And anything that Alistair says before he kills the Arch-Demon. Particularly when he tells you that he wants to be a Good King, and ending the Blight “as his first and last act as king” will make him the “best king he could be”. Likewise when he says that he and pc “both know that he was just a convenience" to get rid of Loghain; and Anora shouldn't have to pay for him to remain king. I find Alistair's allusions to his own feelings of being – well, disposable - heart breaking.

When Anora acknowledges Alistair's sacrifice to save “his country and his friends” . Surprised me and I actually warmed to Anora there. Nobody else cared much. Haven't been able to dislike her much since.
