This probably falls into the line of a DQ (dumb question).

When carrying over (say from ME1 to ME2 to ME3)

   -or-

When initializing a NEW game (and you wish to retain the items, skills, benefits from the previous playthrough)

Can you change the gender?   I'm aware of being able to MODIFY Shep's appearance but I could not find a GENDER swap.  Example:

  • ME1: MALEshep
  • ME2: FEMshep
  • ME3: MALEshep

Do I have to start all over from SCRATCH in ME1?

Thanks for your thoughts

You can't switch genders with imported saves. Lazarus project may completely screw up your face but at least they get your gender right lol :D

It also screws up Shep's ability to dance. Miri has a lot to answer for there.

No. You can't switch genders when importing. You can only change the looks and class of the character that is being imported.

Changing genders would mess up romances; e.g. if you romanced Jack in ME2 then changed to Femshep for ME3, how would Jack react in ME3?

"Shepard, something's different... have you lost weight?"

Thanks all for your reply.

Before I move on to my next game -- I'd like to restart the trilogy -- this time with FEMshep

Someone did a great comic to that effect on deviant art... I can't seem to find it anymore, but the character's reaction to the gender-swap is pretty fantastic.

And yes. Jennifer Hale's voice acting in that game was spot-freaking-on. I tried to play maleShep after playing through as a female, and I just couldn't.

Jennifer Hale is way too emotional in everything to be a soldier. It's not bad to show some emotion here and there, but Hale shows emotion when ordering meal at McDonalds.. so to speak.

Jennifer Hale is awesome and withstands all criticism. Anything that contradicts this is a delusional lie.

I love both Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer's work. They did the character differently but I feel like it worked for both of them.

And you should try Gibbed Save Editor OP.

http://social.biowar...t/4373/#details

You can change around a bunch of variables (For example, romance) to make the transition go smoothly. I'm not sure how well it'll work but no harm in trying

I have a knock-you-dead screenshot of FemBabe.

Could one of you please tell me the navigation path to upload a JPG photo (screenshot).  Specifically:

Go here

click this

etc.

Thanks

Upload it on some image site (I have premium membership on imageshack, giving me unlimited space to upload images), then use image button on the post screen. (looks like the icon of jpeg)

With Gibbed save editor you can change the gender but you will have to import a head morph or the face is all screwed up.  I seem to recall some messed up dialog but nothing major.  I found it works better in ME3 than ME2.

Psychovore:

Many thanks for your help in recommending a website to upload screen shots.

All:

I’m playing the entire trilogy for the first time on FEMshep – and my last before moving on to my next game.  I spent some time tweaking with various FEM configuration settings in ME1.   After an hour into the game, I had to start over a few times until I got the mouth & lips right.   It carried over great into ME2 but only okay in ME3.

My summary of the MEU into one sentence – a very compelling and emotional struggle and whether by design or flaw, it DRAWS US IN (we players) to experience the same adventures, anguish & frustrations, of the game characters.    Perhaps it is an “over time” thing.  Any other game I’ve remained isolated from the game characters.

Fortunately Origin has an IGNORE feature which has about 6 on my list of assorted juveniles, smart alecks, thread-derailers, non-contributors & such that pollute the forums (like you already know).  I don’t waste time playing a game of word & wits with crass juveniles on the Steam forums so I’ve enjoyed the last 4 months on Origin.   Fortunately on Origin, I don’t have to take the 2nd byte out of their crap sandwich.

Alternatively, some on this forum are significant contributors that have earned my respect:   Julia, Mike, Kaiser, Excella, Dream, Iakus, Von, Callisto, Zip, Cap, Spork and several others.   Such make the forum fun & interesting to read.   My hat’s off you all -- and thanks!

YOUR OPINION:  For my final thread & post – I’d like to start a new thread “Show off your custom GORGEOUS-HANDSOME Shep here”  I have 3 screenshots (one example below).   I think it would be fun and a load of laughs.   Those with a sense of humor could show off their ugliest Sheps.   So whaddya think:

  1. Dumbest idea I ever heard of
  2. There might be some interest
  3. Go for it
  4. Knock yourself out
  5. I can definitely outdo your Shep

If only I've saved all my ugly Shepards... :D ME character creation is a mess, especially when trying to make an attractive female character! ;) I just play default Femshep in ME3 when the mood strikes me :D I think it's a good idea ;)

I dunno. I found it pretty easy to make a good looking femShep. It's broShep that I could have a bit of an issue with.

@Dale

I like your femshep. Nice green eyes.

Since I play on a ps3 I'm limited to what the game offers to have a nice looking femshep. When starting a trilogy run, I use this tutorial to get a nice looking femshep.

I don't even try to get a good-looking broshep anymore... Not that I want him to be super hideous, just an ass kicker.

My last broShep came out looking decent. I think he was the first one that I could really say I liked. (My femsheps are usually fine.)

Really? I have the reverse problem -I can't create half-decent looking fem-sheps.

My very first Shepard even looked surprisingly much like Conrad Verner.
