Aggressiveness never makes any argument stronger. In almost all cases, it weakens the argument. The most common reactions to aggressiveness on game forums is to either counter it with the same aggression or to dismiss it as extreme ranting.

I am pretty sure that your concern will receive a more favorable reaction if you voice it in a civil way, regardless of how valid it is.

Probably.  There is interpretation.  In some contexts certain types of aggressiveness are perceived as passion or fervour.  I had not problem with what he was saying, although that may be because I agreed with much of the intention behind the perceived "aggressiveness".

Let's begin shall we?

Boring plot that is mostly "AN AINCENT EVIL AWAKENS!"

Returning characters look shite.

"Open world" actually looks pretty linear with one or two seperate paths

Gay characters are just shoehorned in and their entire personality revolves around the fact they are gay (See: Cortez from mass effect 3, and Dorian, the mage from tevinter who's reason for leaving isn't because it's a horrible decaying empire supporting slavery or the fact he would have to use blood magic, but because of the never preziously hinted homophobia apparently there.)

Godawful ideas for characters (Mage dimplomat who outright threatens someone in line for the throne, Colesteel the hedgehog (Sorry, mean that weird ghost kid from the devil may cry series)).

The red templars being a copy of retard cerberus from mass effect 3 (Look, a previously morally shady organisation, nope they're CRAZZZY!/INDOCRINATED)

The Dialogue wheel (Personal preference, this isn't a biggy)

Textures look awful and glitches (See: The floating people)

Dragon age 2 combat

Combat with dodge rolls in a game with a pause option

You killed this guy with fire? Well, his corpse is ashes until a second later where it's now a normal corpse again (See the gameplay videos)

The bad animations (Lelianna fight with a bow, five templars being knocked down in the same way at the same time.)

Disregarding choices from previous titles because they had to shoehorn characters from the previous games and can't write around them (Why do you think my name is this.)

Horse armor DLC (If you're going to copy elder scrolls with the compass and dragons, both bad things there too btw, don't copy the worst DLC ever released)

I'm sure there's more.

So yeah, i may be a tad sceptical

I thought the reason Dorian left Tevinter was because it's a mess or corrupt crap and he wants to redeem it? Or am I missing something.

All I've heard is he's a man that talks about how fabulous he is (A european trait too but...) and that the reason he's left is because his family needed him to have a heir. I may be wrong but that's definitely one of the reasons, and a pretty bad one.

I have some...reservations but am waiting to see.

The most important aspect that worries me is how we are allowed to interact with the companions, and how that will feel in-game. In DA2 I hated the inability to proactively initiate conversation with my companions while on the road. For me, it meant that they were only 'people' when in their home base, and were diminished to a mere 'combat asset the moment they stepped outside the door. That felt really bad to me, and it was like a neon sign lighting up to remind me that this is just a game. My understanding is that this restriction will still be in place for DAI so I am nervous to see whether the same disconnect arises for me in DAI as it did in DA2.

The other thing that I'd consider a significant issue is whether combat feels better than it did in DA2. I hated the arcade/cartoon combat pace and visuals of DA2. And so far I'm ambivalent on the combat videos for DAI. Lots of Visual FX, too much anti-gravity stuff, and just too 'busy' seeming so far. But maybe it feels different when playing. I am thrilled that the tactical camera is back. I'm relived that the ability to pause still remains available. I'm worried that auto attack and auto acquiring new targets will be as messed up as in DA2, but I can only hope I'm not going to have the spam the mouse or controller button this time around. I hope combat encounters are less weighted towards large numbers of wimpy mobs this time.

I also hope to the maker that there's some more thematic diversity this time around. DA2 was a one note wonder: mage vs templars ad nauseum. I hope there's more going on in the world than a singular central theme.

Generally, I'm still not a fan of the change in aesthetic from DAO to DA2 and it feels to me that DAI is still aligning with the DA2 aesthetic for a large part of things. Thank the maker the elves have been re-retconned. But am waiting to see what goes with the darkspawn. I like the look of the Qunari, and the dragons are certainly different: I'm still not sure if I like them or not.

And while this is not a fear, it is a point of irritation: screw mandatory Origin installs for PC. I have nothing but contempt for the person who decided to implement that policy on ME3 and now DAI. Yes, it aggravates me that much. (Steam is no better btw...I hate steam requirements just as much)

The above applies to me as well.

In DA2 they were only people you could talk to when the game let you, even in their home base.

I complained about mandatory Origin for ME3 as well, but it seems we lost that battle.

I'm in wait and see mode.

I agree with the bolded. The rest I don't have enough information to form an opinion on.

The dodge rolls especially sound, err, 'dodgy' (pun intended)

I'll say this about the returning characters. at least they don't look like generic NPC#47 with a face pasted on like in DA2.

Horse Armour DLC? When did anyone say we were getting something like this?

Lucky I'm not preordering then!

I just had a look, It's  a horse, wearing armour. I don't think the armour is a separate item.

Characters. For example: I hated Fenris (before I played DA2). I hated his look and everything I knew about him before playing the game. After DA2 he became my favourite companion. I loved his character and his look doesn't bothered me anymore. So, I'm afraid something completely different will happen in Da:I. Now I love Dorian the most.  I'm afraid that in the game he'll be annoying or just not as awesome as I predicted.

I think you missed the point about Cortez. He was grieving the loss of his significant other, but if you help him overcome that ordeal he becomes a loyal bro and buddy unless you decide to actually flirt with him. Besides that he loves vehicles and engineering stuff, and always jokes around with Vega. He also like doing stuff with other guys that aren't stereotipically gay like watching sports or hanging out with other dudes and talking about random stuff as seen in the Citadel DLC. People are obsessed with the LBGT labels so much that they forget to see beyond that. Cortez was more than a gay character and I'm sure Dorian will be MORE than that as well.

Sad that certain people didn't see that, they just heard him mention a dead husband & then refused to speak with him again

He cries about his dead husband on duty (doesn't help the tears look like ****). He listens to his dead husband on duty. Citadel DLC did improve him but boy oh boy did that **** up with other characters (Sing along mode activated). Plus there's **** like "STTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEVE!" "I'm okay." "you sure?". And again, perhaps rejecting his advances shouldn't be a renegade option. My favourite Gay video game character is definitely Arcade Gannon from F:NV.

Smart, sarcastic, deals with how he wants to help in a world that crushes the altruistic, deals with the legacy of being part of a genocidal organisation, good in combat rather then replacing a auto pilot. Oh, and he's gay but not interested in you.

Part of what I dislike about gay bioware characters, or most of the bioware characters in general, is that they always want to hook up with you. Seriously, if you have four conversations with someone they are DTF. And once you do, that's it, character development over, he's your boring waifu.

OOC actions being done by my PC. Kicking down doors? No. Just no. My characters would never do that.

Wow, way to be intolerant. Cortez wasn't forcing himself on you. Zevran wasn't really forcing himself on you unless you told him too much compliments and Anders was probably the only character who was open enough about his sexuality to flirt with Hawke straight from the beginning. I think you got some anger issues, buddy.

Exactly, I rejected Cortez and got no Renegade point for it.
Same happened when I chose to reject Ashley and Liara in the first game.

Here's Dorian's profile if you haven't read it and are interested. You aren't wrong that his sexuality and the heir situation does play a part in his character background (the being an outcast part), but it isn't necessarly the reason he left (that was because he wanted to stop something the Tevinter mages are doing.) As for the "fabulous" part, I know of this quote:

Spoiler

To me "dashing" and "fabulous" have different connotations. I don't think him wanting to look dashing will be a "gay stereotype" thing. I choose to believe that, unless proven otherwise, that his dashing-ness is related to his social status as a mage in Tevinter rather than his sexuality.

Oh wow. Are you telling me that Bioware characters as a whole, not straight ones, got gay ones, not bisexual ones, don't start romancing after roughly four convesations? It's always this. Have conversations with someone romancable, suddenly, either you **** me or no more conversations, it's time to choose.

But of course, I made a critique of a gay character, I must be homophobic, he's perfect in every way and I'm a monster for thinking his writing is shoddy and it's pandering.

Not every single member of the crew/team has to fall in love with you after four conversations and a few gifts.

Bioware really aught to do a gay companion that doesn't fall in love with you. There are straight ones I.E: Sten, Aveline, Garrus and tali in ME1, but no gay ones. Little odd.

Thanks. I knew the word used probably wasn't fabulous but I couldn't for the life of me remember it. On a side note, did anyone else really dislike the writing in those character things? Especially the Female elfs one, god that made so little sense.

Another fear I'm adding to my list, bringing the wrong kind of customers in the discussions that will spread bigotry and hateful messages to other members and the BioWare team. It happens everytime one of their games gets released and it always turns into a chaotic pit from hell in no time.
