as does the amateur dramatics.
Someone having a different opinion is not being bigoted.. as a gay man i pretty much agree with what he is saying.

What I meant is that we get a lot of people complaining about characters for being different, to the point they use insults and agressiveness to make other members feel like they're idiots for supporting the brand.
Another fear I'm adding to my list, bringing the wrong kind of customers in the discussions that will spread bigotry and hateful messages to other members and the BioWare team. It happens everytime one of their games get released and it always gets out of control.
Bigotry? I forgot where that included "Criticizing fictional characters". Do you want the Bioware Forums to consist entirely of people praising bioware, telling them what a wonderful job they are doing, even after things like DA2 and Mass effect 3, ending and otherwise.
I love Bioware. I want it to be perfect. But for a long time it hasn't
I don't want EA to use the importance of LGBT's as a shield against criticism. I don't want to be called "An Entitled Gamer" or a misogynist by gaming journalism because I dislike a flawed game.
Look at Sims 4, Sim city. Look at what EA has done to studios like Bullfrog and Origin. To games like Spore.
I am a bioware fan. I am a fan of a lot of there work. But I am not going to blindly agree with everything they've done and are doing.
But of course, I'm clearly a misogynistic, homophobic, hateful person, because I critique a homosexual characters writing. Please, someone call the mods, how dare i speak my mind in such a manner that doesn't intend to hurt anyone.
Anyway, to get back on topic, hopefully since bioware are spending more then eleven months on this game it'll be less buggy then DA2
Well what did you really expect when you start a topic titled "Share your fears before the big release"? Its obviously going to bring negative comments and feelings from people. It's almost as bad as the "what do you think people will dislike about DAI" topic.. its like having a neon sign up saying come in here to hate on BioWare and everything they have created and will create.

But it wasn't my initial intention. The thread is about Dragon Age Inquisition and only that; any real world political and religious disagreement should be left aside for this kind of thread.
I get what your intention was, i myself am afraid i'll end up spending way too much time playing this game to the detriment of many other things, but people will latch onto topics like this as a way to vent at bioware for them having being slighted by bioware in some imagined way. Alot of people seem to forget that we are talking about video games, not life and death situations.

Insults and aggressiveness? You mean like
Wow, way to be intolerant. Cortez wasn't forcing himself on you. Zevran wasn't really forcing himself on you unless you told him too much compliments and Anders was probably the only character who was open enough about his sexuality to flirt with Hawke straight from the beginning. I think you got some anger issues, buddy.
Another fear I'm adding to my list, bringing the wrong kind of customers in the discussions that will spread bigotry and hateful messages to other members and the BioWare team. It happens everytime one of their games gets released and it always turns into a chaotic pit from hell in no time.

What else Am i supposed to do on a sunday night then whine about video games on the internet ![]()
Let's see, what am I worrying about....
1. I agree with the OP in fearing that the PS3-version of the game might give the player a heavily inferior experience. I know that for now it just seems like a graphical difference, but Dragon Age doesn't exactly have a history on being as good on consoles at it has been on PC, and with PS3 now being considered 'last-gen'... we'll see. I have given up hope of my PC being able to run the game when it launches, as it does meet the minimum requirements for a game like Battlefield 4, but not the recommended. And I believe the devs said to look to that game's requirements for DA:I, at least for now.
I actually want to get the game for PS4, but being a student money's tight at the moment so I don't think I'll be able to get a PS4 before the game's launch.
2. Even though some may find this silly, when I hear developers claiming that we will be able to influence an economical or ecological system within a game, I always cringe and remain a tiny bit skeptical. Remember when Todd Howard said we would be able to do that in Skyrim? I realize that game wasn't made by BioWare, but still... and people in the industry like Peter Molyneux aren't exactly helping.
3. I also fear that DA:I will completely destroy my social life and make me neglect my job to feed the fish in the tank that I have in my quarters... I really do need to get one of those auto-feeders. Or ask Kelly to do it for me.
Kelly Chambers to the rescue! ... It had to be said.
The main thing I'm worried about is the type of gamers the MP will attract. Considering the types of gamers ME3 MP attracted, I don't think my concern is misplaced.
Littlebird, Peter Molyneux is the video game equivalent of a snake oil salesman.

Eh. There's good and bad people in all types of crowds. I spent a large majority of my time not playing DA:O in 2010 playing Bad Company 2 and I met some of the nicest people I've ever met on there. Of course there were dudebros but some dudebros play exclusively singleplayer games.
ON TO MY OWN WORRIES.

Probably my single biggest fear about Inquisition, and one I've stated in multiple threads, is that they might be exaggerating the number of hours that it takes to beat the game while trying to see/do everything. How many hours are spent combing an area for bear pelts for that last item you need to craft and how many are spent on optional content that actually strengthens your Inquisition and lead to interesting scenarios. How many of those 180 hours are filled with companion interactions and how many are spent with the companions wordlessly following you? How many times can you exercise your power in cool ways off the main path? They said that the Highlands is totally optional content. How many of the other 9ish open world areas are also optional?
I'm also worried the elder one is just going to be a generic all powerful bad guy along the lines of the reapers. Sure he might reveal some crazy plot twist about Thedas that we'll discuss on the forums for years, but I prefer grounded villains like ME2 Illusive Man, Saren, Loghain, or Meredith before she got red lyrium crazy. I dunno though. Maybe there's someone like Kai Lang they're keeping under wraps, but done much better. If so, bravo, I'll be a happy camper.
Third is the whole red templar faction. Yeah, they make sense given that red lyrium is now a known thing but I hope they're a side group. They remind me of ME3 cerberus in that they're canned, faceless, bonkers enemies for us to fight and not care about. I want foes I feel bad about killing. There were a few groups in Origins that just seemed to be punch clock villains or otherwise normal people doing their job. Take the werewolves you had to slaughter during Nature of the Beast before you can parlay. If the red templars are anything like Cerberus, any sane/not brainwashed/not lyrium crazed/not indoctrinated people have already jumped ship.
I guess that's about it.
The only thing im worried about is Dying before playing this.
Littlebird, Peter Molyneux is the video game equivalent of a snake oil salesman.
Amen.

I've seen this comparison get used quite a lot, and I would just until the game comes out. The only real thing we know about them is that they are probably ex-Templars who've used red lyrium to enhance themselves, maybe. That being said though, I don't think you're going to feel bad about killing that. But that doesn't mean Inquisition will have those foes, and it also doesn't mean that it's a bad thing. After all, every game needs people that you'd just love to stab and all. You don't want to play through the whole game sad because you feel bad about every kill.
I am exaggerating, of course. But for such a faction, I would turn to the Grey Wardens. Remember that trailer in which we saw the Inquisition fighting Grey Wardens? I'm expecting to feel bad about killing those people.

And I met many of my PSN friends on ME3 MP and GTA IV's multi, but I'm mostly worried about gamers like the COD kids. I don't have any experience with BF gamers so idk how they usually are.
All this talk is moot atm, though. Unless proven otherwise, I'm going to be somewhat apprehensive about the people I bump into on DA MP unless I recognize their PSN IDs from here.
Yeap. I'm going to feel horrible at fighting the wardens probably. They're my favorite group in the setting. And oh the heartbreak that's going to ensue if Loghain, Alistair, Bethany, or Carver happen to be at the fortress we besiege. You thought potentially killing Jack at the Cerberus Base was bad? You ain't seen nothin yet.

Oh Maker it's going to be hard defending my choice of having Alistair remain a Grey Warden if that happens....
lol reading all the rules just made me want to break each one of them because of the ridiculousness of it but i'll play nice.
I'd say my biggest fear before release is that the game won't end up selling well and we might not see a fourth dragon age ever. Also tied into my fear is if the game will simply not be as good as i think it will be.
I really feel Bioware need a well recieved, well sold game to boost confidence in them again because to this day when bioware's name pops up on other forums i still just see "Mass effect 3 ending was bad" "SWTOR was a fail and now all about cash shop" "Dragon Age 2 was a terrible sequel". So i really want this game to do well and for Bioware to be given praise again.
@Oberyn: I think I should just write: "Please, be civil and friendly with other users." *shrugs*

I also fear that this might be the last Dragon Age... There's only so much you can tell about Thedas in a restrained timeline. I think the next games should be set in a new age, way after the Dragon Age. It would be great to see a new era with the races, new races, old faces coming back maybe... I'm not afraid of the sales, more like about what is coming after Inquisition. There's so much potential and directions that the writers could take after this game and the upcoming novels.
Or before. So pretty much every game Bioware made after DAO.
Hmm, there's no doubt that Bioware's changing and it affects every aspect of their games. The types of stories they want to tell are changing, culminating in the tremendous shift in direction that DA2 represented. Gameplay mechanic priorities are shifting. They're driven by the magic 10mil number and they're fishing around trying to figure out ways to achieve it, grabbing influences from Skyrim for instance. My fear is they've forgotten what it means to be Bioware.
The one thing I was worrying about happening happened today (360 got RRoD), and now I have to decide whether to get another 360, or move on to PS4/Xbox One.
It was a bad thing for Bio to not tell the same nobody-with-a-destiny-saves-the-world-by-completing-four-missions-to-unlock-the-endgame story again?Hmm, there's no doubt that Bioware's changing and it affects every aspect of their games. Epic fantasy doesn’t need to follow the same plot-line. That being said, people who are fans of epic fantasy aren’t necessarily fans of close-in, personal stuff. And just because people like stories doesn’t mean they like all varieties of stories. So some of us do consider it a negative and, more importantly, we would have liked some warning instead of pretending DA2 was going to cater to the same fanbase as DA:O

You might as well move on from last gen to the current gen ps4/xbox one.
