Epic fantasy doesn’t need to follow the same plot-line. That being said, people who are fans of epic fantasy aren’t necessarily fans of close-in, personal stuff. And just because people like stories doesn’t mean they like all varieties of stories. So some of us do consider it a negative and, more importantly, we would have liked some warning instead of pretending DA2 was going to cater to the same fanbase as DA:O

That's reasonable. I just don't think that you're worried about anything real here. If DA2 had been a huge success then maybe Bio would have abandoned their standard plot for good, but that didn't happen.

I'm worried Bio would pay too much attention to the DAI singleplayer and in turn neglect the DA multiplayer.

My fears are don't have much to do with Bioware, more that I'm worried my PS3 might crap out trying to play it, or that I'm going to die a lot whilst trying to play. Any other fears I do have will probably be laid to rest when we get our hands on the Keep.

I'm actually feeling pretty positive on the whole.

Im positive towards DAI but my biggest concern is that they will pull a mass effect.

Promises lots of thing but none are kept.

one more thing, if there will be a lot of commercials prior to the release of the game on TV, internet and even radio.

Just COVER the breaks, usually when something is overcommercialed it means they are hiding something or compensating a flaw.

The one thing I was worrying about happening happened today (360 got RRoD), and now I have to decide whether to get another 360, or move on to PS4/Xbox One.

I think you should go Next Gen, unless you really love your 360's games... Good luck with that. :\

I'm worried that because the game is being released in the middle of a school semester, I won't have the time to play it.

I'm only worried about the delivery of my Inquisitor's Edition. I paid for Next Day shipping but that gives me a wide window to be anxiously waiting at my front door...not accounting for mailing fck-ups, either.

I also fear that this might be the last Dragon Age... There's only so much you can tell about Thedas in a restrained timeline. I think the next games should be set in a new age, way after the Dragon Age. It would be great to see a new era with the races, new races, old faces coming back maybe... I'm not afraid of the sales, more like about what is coming after Inquisition. There's so much potential and directions that the writers could take after this game and the upcoming novels.

Dragon Age: Inquisition starts a few weeks after Varric's interrogation in 9:40 Dragon, so let's say 9:41 Dragon for simplicity's sake. Considering I don't think Inquisition will span as much time as Dragon Age 2, that means that after Inquisition, we'll have over half of the actual Dragon Age left. To me that seems plenty enough time to have quite a few games set in this age. For example, there've been rumours about a Qunari invasion, so that will likely happen within the Age.

I realize that 4, 5 or more games with major conflicts in their storylines may seem like a bit much to be crammed into one century, but when the Age was named 'Dragon Age' by Divine Faustine II, she predicted it'd be an age of violence and upheaval (source).

Not so much a fear as a niggle of doubt: I don't actually like open world games all that much, or rather their need for filler to make the world come alive. If the actual story is tight enough to keep me on track, then great (Fallout 3/NV), if it isn't... I wander off. I'm pretty sure this one will fall on the right side, considering Bioware's traditional story focus.

Assuming the open world thing works out, I only fear that I'll forget to post an AFG message to my Eve Online corporation and they'll think I'm dead.

I'm afraid about that too XD Once I had a taste of Kaidan in ME, I had a hard time pursuing other romances in later playthroughs... And it seems like it's gonna be the same with Dorian and his amazing 'stache...! :P

I fear that there won't be enough humor. I laughed a lot in DA2 and ME3: Citadel. But now that Thedas is in so much crap, I fear there won't be a lot of laughs =( and I LOOOVE bioware's humor. It makes my day!!

I wouldn't worry too much, ME3 was set during in a huge galactic war and the game had it's funny moments, but the Citadel DLC was one of my favorites.

I hope DA:I will have tavern settings with hilarious dialogue.  :)

I'm worried that I'll finally manage to get a job... and then have to work during/immediately after the release, leaving me little to no time for playing.

I worry about how the attributes system will look like in the game. I always stress with those classes requirements so I wait a little while for guides when playing on higher difficulties.

my only worry is it become too similar to Dragon age 2... DA2 was one of the worst games ever and the biggest dissappointing sequel, and i'm counting AR, AJ:AA, B&W 2, Sims4, King of the monsters and SCS in that list.

That's my only worry, and sadly the rogues already checked in that list, i hope the mage's lolipop chainsaw animations with scrotum blast are gone or at least not so "flashy", also the fact of "beautyfull animations" that was a mere excuse to impose the use of one weapon instead of the big cast we used to have in DAO:DAA plus the "play your character as developer want YOU to do" is moving my approval bar negatively. So the combat is mostly lost for me and i'm hopping that the JA:BiA gameplay gives us the challenge that was missed in that putrid rotten tomato crapsack that was DA2 (bash everything you see with your 2 handed weapon and watch the enemies dance with each of your hits).

I'm hopping is at least better written with less plotholes and excuses for them, that our inquisitor's actions and dialogues are REALLY important and that it feels like a game and not poorly written sex filled fanfiction.

Conflict between this and Uni. I've always been absolutely pathetic at self-restraint, which is why I've recited a deadly pagan curse on every videogame dev that decided to release every single title in the same 2 months instead of throughout the year.

Ugh, tell me about it. I have so many new games coming out soon, I don't know where to put my head anymore. Though, think about it, school's more important than gaming for most people out there. Your games will always be there while University classes are temporary.

Yeah, let's not turn this into a "we hate Dragon Age 2" thread. Focus on the third game please.

Sorry it was not my intention, i was just answering the question.

What Are You Worried About Before The Release?

That was the answer for me

PS: after seeing this post published the sound of the singing sylvan was heard in my mind

I'm worried I won't be able to play it at or soon after release. Currently I don't have a PC good enough to play the game and I only have a PS3. I definitely want to only get DAI on PC so I'm planning on getting a new PC as soon as I can (for both DAI and other latest games I want to play). Trouble is right now I'm a bit pressed on funds so it might get delayed by a few months after release and I don't want to end up making a bad decision like buying it for my PS3 out of desperation.

I'll probably also have to avoid BSN and other places that have DAI spoilers. I was spoiled for DA2's ending cos I stupidly was reading stuff about it rather than playing it. Don't want that happening again.

sorry to hear that, but spoiling that "ending" was good for your sanity, i hope you either refunded or destroyed your DA2 copy, i did it with mine

Well I had a lot of issues with DA2 but I didn't hate the game. I thought it was very different and that the lack of development time showed, but I had fun playing it regardless.

I had no problems with the endings at all as I knew this game was leading to something bigger.

Yeah if it weren't for the ending, DAI would likely not exist or rather not this game exactly. I'm quite passionate about the mage/templar conflict in the DA universe, have been since Origins and I like that it's a focus this time around to much greater degree.

I'm mostly worried about glitches and bugs , since I plan on playing on release week and it's a big game with a new engine.

My computer is good enough to run the game ,but I have this strange paranoia about it breaking .

I'm not really worried about the content , there's probably going to be things I don't really like ...even if I hate some stuff well it's not the end of the world.

So yeah just afraid things won't work as intented and the massive frustration I would feel.
