So how does that equate to a low number of femsheps then, given that those two are pretty much the main femshep love interests (with the obvious exception of the drell).
Something doesn't add up really.

Anyway, one interesting phenomenon I have noticed is that a majority of the fan art seems to involve femshep. Curious that.

It'll be interesting to see how me4 turns out anyway.

Well, Liara can be discarded from that, as she's a unisex fit. Garrus is a real popular character with or without romance, but he was obviously the most popular male LI in ME2.

It's not surprising to me that FemShep is more favorable to the people who would make fan art, seeing as she does have more personality and better voice acting, and I'd assume a much greater percentage of that demographic is female.

Should be interesting, for sure.

More women are typically into fanfic and fanart. It's the same in Dragon Age, just look at fanfiction.net and the number of stories for each character.

Alistair 2,8k
Zevran 1.2k
Anders 2.0k
Fenris 2.0k

Leliana (the most popular LI in DAO) 506
Morrigan 520
Isabela 496
merrill 301

More women..

Complete aside, but I just can't get into Baldur's Gate 2. What am I doing wrong? I just don't seem to 'get' it.

How far into the game are you?

As a big Baldur's Gate fan (played through both games on multiple occasions) I would suggest that you give it a bit more time to see if the frustration with the graphics (which is obviously dated) and combat (which is also dated) dissipates. The combat for example gets a lot more fun when you're more powerful and have more attacks at your disposal, especially as a spell caster. Or do you hate the story?

To be honest, me and a mate playing coop struggled through the niitial tutorial mission and to the first large city.

Maybe I need to try on my own? I found the interface alone baffling. It's odd because *in theory* I should like this sort of stuff.

Still early in the game yet. I'd echo Barquiel's suggestion and give it a little more time... at least until you get used to the interface. BG2 is a great game, and some of the adventures you go on are pretty cool.

Having said that, I know where you're coming from. I tried to go back and replay Planescape: Torment  awhile ago, and I found I really had to force myself to continue through the first quarter. In the end I decided that, if I have to force myself to play a game I loved then I'm just going to stop and not ruin my fond memories.
