I don't expect Bioware to deal with more license IPs. They have DA, ME, and a new original IP on their plate. I wouldn't be opposed to another Star Wars RPG from Bioware (or Obsidian), but it wouldn't have to be KOTOR, I actually would like to see something set in the movie era, perhaps during the reign of the empire but before the first film.

If the EA Lords crack a whip Bioware will make it. They don't have the luxury and nitpicking and since EA knows Star Wars is a cash cow they are going to hand a stool and bucket to Bioware to go milk it.

Bioware's not the only studio they've got...

They could ask any of their numerous studios to make a new Star Wars game (just like they're making another SW: Battlefront).

Uh, what? BioWare is an organ of EA now, you don't have to crack a whip to get your bones to produce more blood or anything.

Some people let their hatred for EA cloud everything else.

SWBF3 was cancelled when the Studio Pandimic went under in 2011.

Yes, the new battlefront is being made by DICE. I am pretty sure with the Frostbite 3 engine.

Probably not, but it could've been written on the deal as one of the conditions. He seemed kinda eager to protect his own stuff.

Who knows, but I'd be surprised if there was a clause dictating future of SW canon.

But put me in charge, and the only thing remaining from the entire era is the Darth Plagueis book. And that would require fairly serious editing.

I've actually thought it out in my head how the new prequels would go.

Well you shouldn't, Star Wars canon is terrible. If Disney knew what he was doing, he would have retconned the prequel trilogy out of the canon, not KotOR 1&2.

I bet Lucas had it as a clause in the contract that they couldn't do that, that said I do like Episode 3 for the most part. I just wished that they had started out with Episode II being Episode 1, then Episode III being Episode II and finishing with a film where a fully suited Vader hunted down and destroyed lots of Jedi.

Spoiler

It all makes sense as to why Disney bought Star Wars, they want to be able to thaw and refreeze him at will.  :P

Started that one myself, but haven't finished yet.

But yeah, I am one of those people who aren't too fan of the movie era and much prefer the Old Republic era. Feels like there are simply so many more possibilities there.

Wonder if EA had any say in the matter, when Disney labeled everything outside of Movies and Clone Wars as non canon.

James Luceno is certainly no hack. He managed to make a book about the prequels real damn good.

I am a fan of the Rebellion era, IE I watch the OT quite often, and Rogue Squadron is a real good game; it has aged well.

I don't see why they would care. If anything, it opens up options to make more games. Though I'm not exactly happy EA has exclusivity.

Well if they know about portion of their fans, they'd be upset. Been reading SWTOR forums for while and some people quit playing as soon as SWTOR was switched to "Legacy". Suppose it ain't as bad, but things like changing the original homeworld of the Sith for example, which seemed like for no good reason when there was good established story for Korriban, is weird.

Ah well, I've just never been too big on the kind of underdog story that goes with the rebellion vs Empire. Liked the stories with Separatists vs Republic war as a setting way more.

Get them to write it, get Bioware to develop it. Problem solved.

Seeing as KOTOR 2 gameplay, level design and mechanics where better then KOTOR.....

How about no?

I would love it if they made a game about Imperial Intelligence.

I think most people will agree with me here when I say that the Imperial Agent had the best storyline of TOR. Expand on that. Or a bounty hunter RPG.

I rather see that than another tale about a protagonist turned jedi/sith.

Either this or get to play as a Han-Solo type this time. In KOTOR 1 you can start out having a Smuggler background but of course it's all a prelude to being a Jedi i in the end with the twist and all that. I'd like a game centering around being a Smuggler or roguish type character.

I still haven't felt like going next gen, but seeing some of the videos out for games released like Destiny have to imagine a KotOR for the new gen would look spectacular. I'd love some great space scenery, and I really loved the aesthetic design of the original two KotOR's ships & characters so it would be great seeing more of that. I think that's one of the best in Star Wars. One of the things I loved about Obsidian's sequel was how many different aliens they attempted to put in, next gen would probably support a diverse galaxy even better, which would make it feel even more like Star Wars.

Do you think the Silent Protag should be honored if the series continues, or update it to Bioware current? I like both, but with Star wars you have a much bigger history of content to explore so SP would probably be able to lend itself to a bigger story/dialog pool?

Who besides Bioware or Obsidian could continue it? I kind of felt a KotOR-vibe through some of Amular. Maybe they could do a good KotOR. That game wasn't as good as KotOR or 2, but was close enough that with some improvements could pull it off I think. I also wonder if EA is having another team work on a new RPG. Even if it's not related, that would be fun. Heard rumors Visceral might be doing something character driven. Does not automatically suggest RPG, but would hint at the possibility.
