But: KOTOR II story and characters > KOTOR I story and characters

You're half right.

But half wrong.

They could definitely make a KOTOR 3 and I hope it happens one day, I would hate for the Legends canon to be completely abandoned. The Old Republic spoilers

As much as I would love if they continued adding lore to Legends, I doubt they will. Disney seems to be committed to making sure all the new Star Wars stories are built to make sense with each other within the new canon. It'd take away from their universe and make it more confusing for people if they supported two different timelines of lore. Unless I see otherwise, I'm convinced the last bit of lore we're ever going to get to Legends is going to come from SWTOR.

Either this or get to play as a Han-Solo type this time. In KOTOR 1 you can start out having a Smuggler background but of course it's all a prelude to being a Jedi i in the end with the twist and all that. I'd like a game centering around being a Smuggler or roguish type character.

Play as the mandalorians they got more twist and turns then any of the other classes on SWTOR.

The Bounty Hunter was fun in TOR -- But it's not really related to what I was talking about.

Nah, he's completely right. The only characters, who were remotely interesting in KOTOR 1 was HK-47 & Jolee Bindo.

Revan was only interesting when he was fleshed out a bit more in KOTOR 2 as a tactical prodigy, whom knew a lot more than what was let on in the first game.

But does anybody know what really happen in the mandalorian wars that could be a Kotor game of it's own, I mean how did revan become jedi great leader with jedi's following him to battle what happen to his parents how did he get in to jedi order in the first place Nobody explain any of that in Kotor 2 their was always hints but Bioware and obsidian never explain any of it yet, plus they need a way to upgrade lightsaber forms like if your main is Form V: Shien why can't you upgrade to Shien/Djem So.

I don't want Bioware to make Kotor 3, I want them to just make a Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic video game that his a good single player story and gameplay I don't care about a part 3 of any game look at MGS 5 that's more realistic I personally want bioware to tell the like what we seen in three trailers.

His parents aren't important any more than Anakin's father is important to his character development.

The Great Hyperspace War, the war with Exar Kun or potentially something that occurs after that awful MMO could be an interesting setting.

I'd be down for almost anything since Star Wars is pretty much interchangeable when it comes to its setting, just as long as Anakin and Lucas' characters doesn't exist in it.

I agree, I bet they'll completely ignore Legends and its such a shame. I'd have liked to see how they planned on killing off Luke in that continuity, I'd have liked a Force Unleashed 3 in the hopes that it resolved that terrible cliffhanger from the second one (and redeemed that series, continuing it after the first one was extremely unnecessary) and I'd have liked to have seen Ben Skywalker become a Jedi Master and take up his father's mantle of Grand Master of the Jedi Order. There are just so many untold stories that they could tell and some of them are begging to be told, such a shame.

^ I agree with this and I found this to be the main problem with Episode 1. I don't give a crap about where Anakin came from, who his parent's were or how he was when he was a kid unless it ends up being important to the story (it wasn't, at least in my opinion. That is something that could have been left for the books like Palpatine or a mystery like Yoda), it was because of this that I wish Episode 1 had covered the Clone Wars or had Anakin already a Padawan/Jedi (that definitely would have saved a lot of time and would have gave Lucas the opportunity to give us an Episode 3 that had an armored Darth Vader from the get go who was hunting down the remaining Jedi). Oh well.

Am I the only one who thinks they practically raped Revan in the latest patch. I mean... He isn't even recognizable anymore!

You know what would make a great Star Wars game (even the best one to date)? The Original Trilogy as a single player RPG (just one long game). Seriously, have it to where the player played as Luke and allow them to make decisions such as whether or not bothering to search for R2-D2 when he goes missing on Tatooine, joining the rebellion and participating in the Death Star assault, being able to join Darth Vader, and being able to kill Vader and become Palpatine's new apprentice. All of this would/could dramatically change the plot for the other Episode(s) that the player has remaining, you'd also be able to recreate the entire OT by choosing everything that happened in the movies. I mean, they'd have to add in a bunch of Stormtroopers/Rebels/things for you to fight to make it more of a game, but I know it could be done and would make an amazing and memorable game.

Adding to some of Revan's backstory in KotOR 2, the KotOR comics does take place during the Mandalorian wars. Revan is sidelined, but Malak is more of a supporting character. The comic does show how Revan gathered followers, the moment he found his mask and pledged war. Some other characters from the game appear, like Onasi. The comic was pretty good, I thought it fizzled out towards the end but it's a nice trip in that era. If you want to see more KotOR backstory then might be good to pick it up, I think it's all been collected in one of those fat books already.

Is it just me, or is this a bait thread?

Regardless, I think the old republic era is a thing of the pre-2010;s. Time for a new setting, and a new game franchise.

Bioware presents: Star Wars: Dark Age, and its sequel, Star Wars: Dark Age, rule of 2. Set during the last years of the Republic Dark Age, during the last years of the new sith wars between the brotherhood of darkness and its dark army fighting a crumbling and decaying jedi and repbulic, set during 1100 BBY.Of

course im of the opinion that the year 3000 BBY is getting petty tapped, and moving on to the 2000's of the star wars timeline could give them a chance to star fresh, and tell more stories without being chained to the storyline of the past. They can do what they want to remake the sith order, jedi order, republic, whatever will serve as the empire, and tell interesting stories with a similar feel. A spiritual successor if you will.

I actually started playing KotoR again the other day as I've since learned and play D&D compared to when I played it before so I know what the hell half the tooltips are talking about now.

And the computer is a cheating bastard at Pazaak.

we need a new Kotor single player game for PS4, XBOX ONE and PC cause most of us want to see if the real Bioware still got it, personally I want to see a new Kotor game like the Cinematic Trailers of SWTOR.

Ah Kotor, old memories. Loved both games. KOTOR 2 had fresh characters, excellent gameplay and an intriguing story, but Kotor 1 will always have that special place in my heart as my first RPG (at 7-8 years old no less), and it's little quirky charms taunt me to boot up the old Xbox for another playthrough. :D

I remember always researching to see if a sequel would be made many years ago, and while I did play and enjoy SWTOR, I would definitely be on board for a true Kotor sequel. Maybe co-developped by both Obsidian and Bioware for extra awesomness. Unfortunantely, I know that it's a long shot at this point. Don't know how they'd make a good story for it, especially if they plan to include Revan/Exile, since they've been fleshed out in depth.

In fact, a new update for SWTOR showed Revan's back. I'm tempted to open the game for the first time in 6 months just to see what it's all about.

Hard to say, since I don't know what level range you were in, and how good/bad your gear actually was.

There are plenty of ways to get gear though, the commendation vendors and your crafting skills being the ones that come to mind immediately. Running heroic missions on the various planets also tends to reward you with gear and/or with commendations.

And of course there's always the chance that you had a bad group... but if it happened consistently, the problem probably was on your end.

In my experience it's very rare to get kicked from a flashpoint because of bad gear. I've played SWTOR since launch, and I've never had it happen.

An example that would warrant a swift kick would be if you were wearing level 50 blue gear and immediately jumped into the 55 Hard mode flashpoints. (While you have the tactical flashpoints as an alternative to gear up.)

At which point you'd be pretty much useless, and seen as a leech that expects everyone to carry him/her to easy gear.
