I was reading  about dragon age inquisition on the latest issue of GamesTM and according to them some companions may form relationships with others depending on your choices and if you choose a romance or not , so which characters do you think are going to form a relationship?

I'm hoping for Dorian and Iron Bull as well as Blackwall and Josephine. From what we've heard, I think they could be good together. Cullen and Cassandra might also be interesting.

I'm guessing Iron Bull will be forming a relationship with almost everyone due to his open-bed policy. That would be a sight to behold.

I've heard that as well, I'm having a hard time imagining many combinations, although there is still probably a lot more to learn about the companions.

I think Iron Bull and Dorian could be a possibility, even if just for a fling...otherwise the only others I can think of are maybe Cullen and Cassandra or Cullen and Josie.

Reading the replies though, Blackwall and Cass could be an interesting one...hmm...

My guesses:

Blackwall and Cassandra. If not I do feel like Blackwall has a lot of respect for the Seeker, and vice versa.

Cullen and Josephine. Why? I have no idea. Just think it fits.

Impossible to tell for now. Who saw it comming with Carver and Merrill? Or Bethany and Sebastian.

I also would never guess that Fenris can have something with Isabela.

I have no idea.. but I find the thought a little odd. I didn't find it quite amusing in ME when Garrus and Tali had a fling when you were in a relationship with someone else other than one of them.

I'm more of a; ALL MINE!! kind of person. XD

I think we got blindsided because we didn't know it was possible for companions to get together. Now we know they can, and we know a bit about some of them. I don't think all companions/advisors will pair off if we don't make a move (incompatible orientations abound), but there are some interesting possible combinations.

My favorite is:

Cassandra and Blackwall. Why? Leliana romanced my Warden and I find it funny that both Hands of the Divine would have a thing for Grey Wardens.

I wouldn't have minded Cassandra & Regalyan.

But just as I thought, since he wasn't part of one of the actual games we won't be seeing him. (or maybe he got whacked by the Templars when all hell broke loose)  :(

I know some people think & hope Dorian/Iron Bull or Sera/Josephine will happen but ill be very surprised if there's even any S/S flirting between companions, nevermind full relationships.

Well, exclusively gay characters were a surprise too...

What I think:

Cullen and Leliana, they have both differences and similarities and I think they just fit.

Iron Bull has casual sex with Dorian, Iron Bull seems to be quite into sex and somehow I doubt he'd easily want serious relationship. Maybe with Inquisitor but I don't think that with Dorian.

I wouldn't find it surprising. We already had Steve bring up his marriage in ME 3 and Anders talk about Karl, both unprompted. Isabela flirted with Bethany, etc. etc.

I think we'll see some Dorian and Iron Bull flirting and Cullen and Cassandra flirting (unless Cullen and Cass are too 'serious' to flirt).

I don't think they'll "fall in love", I think they'll just have close relationships like Aveline and Isabela did.

As for that, I think:

Varric and Sera will spend a lot of time drinking together. Cullen will sometimes join in. As will Iron Bull

Leliana will spend a lot of time alone, but she'll get close to Blackwall, because he reminds her of the Warden

Hah, I'm the same.  I mean it is cute when it happens, but at the same time it makes it feel like my character is some secondary choice that just got in the way of things, I just want them all for myself.

Well, they did have Anders make the first move regardless of gender. That didn't necessarily go over well for some, but still. I don't think they are in the camp of avoiding s/s content if they want to include it. Herren and Wade and Branka and Hespith come to mind. They haven't had s/s relationships in the party, but they also haven't had exclusively gay party members before. There's a first time for everything.

I think it makes more sense for companions to hook up with other companions, not with advisors. You spend most of the time out in the field. The only way you'd ever see companions and advisors together is if you happened to walk in on them - at Skyhold - at the right moment.

I certainly don't plan to make a complete round of Skyhold every time I'm done with a mission, like you had to do in ME3 on the Normandy, because it was annoying as hell. I'd like to think Bioware learned from that.

I really hope we see this happen! It's such a small feature and probably needless gamespace with all the other big ideas and storylines they're going for but I'd even like to be able to encourage certain relationships or be involved in some cases where it's funny or interesting (like Aveline and Donnic). I love The Long Road so much! I don't think there's a single playthrough where I didn't complete it and get them together.

I do like it when companions flirt with each other and form relationships among themselves, because it's a good reminder that your PC is not the whole center of their universe - these characters have lives of their own beyond just serving your whims, and have the agency to pursue relationships independently of your choice to be with them or not. They're more than just meat cuts forever on display at the love interest market, saving themselves for you even when you've clearly chosen someone else. It's realistic. You choose to date person X, your friends who might've had a crush on you otherwise make peace with your decision and move on with their lives, looking for a relationship somewhere else.

As for the cast of DAI, I've no idea what these secondary ships could be because we don't knpw them that well enough yet, but I do think Cullen/Cassandra or Blackwall/Josie getting together if you don't romance them could be cute. Bull/Dorian being a thing if you don't go for them would be the bees knees, but I'm not putting too much stock on it. Sera/Josie seems more likely if we have s/s companion couples, for... you know. Reasons.

Either way, I did enjoy the Fenris/Bela and Tali/Garrus, so bring on the background relationships. Can't wait to see what excuse Cassandra comes up with for her gauntlets "accidentally" hooking to Cullen's ass.

But I missed that so much in DA2

But what about Vivienne, she isn't in a relationship, and her and Josie would be the most amazing, socially powerful, couple ever.

Iron Bull I can see with Dorian, Josie, Vivienne(their horns match XD and for some reason I feel they would get along), Cassandra seems a bit serious for him though. I can even imagine that he may flirt with Sera and thats how we learn she is a lesbian early on.

But considering their preferences...

Solas- No one in party applies.

Vivienne- Since she is not romanceable, she could end up with several of them, and she just has no interest in the Inquisitor. Everyone but Cassandra and Dorian.

Dorian- Iron Bull

Varric- I mean the Bianca thing, but otherwise if it is just not the Inquisitor. Vivienne, Josie, Cassandra(although I really really doubt he would ever be with her) and possibly Iron Bull or Dorian. Although I doubt Varric ends up with anyone other than a possible Bianca.

Sera- Josie, or Vivienne but they are a little too opposite I think.

Cole- Need not apply.

Cassandra- Cullen, Blackwall, Iron Bull(Also maybe a tad too different in attitudes)

Blackwall- Vivienne, Cassandra, and Josie

Iron Bull- Dorian, Cassandra, Vivienne, Josie

And Advisors:

Leliana- I don't think she would be with anyone since she may or may not be romanced and that can be a difficult thing to have as side content especially when she was the most romanced. That said, if she was she could be added to... everybody except Dorian and Cassandra.

Cullen- Josie, Cassandra or Vivienne(I think I just got a NoTP lol)

Josie- Everyone except Dorian or Cassandra.

I really want this to happen, I never really understand why it bothers people actually! I've got high hopes for Iron Bull/Dorian and I definitely think they are most likely to hook up (even if its just casual). Maybe Sera/Josephine as well, that would be good. Cassandra/Blackwall could be interesting as well.

Everyone keep saying that but there's like no reason for now other than "they're both not straight".

Never thought it works that way.
