Sure, some people can, because that's to do with brain input processing speed, which is massively parallelized. But what was being said was that it can't significantly change your reaction beyond a certain number of FPS. Neural impulse travel speed is order of 100m/s, so human hand reaction times are order of 1/100 of a second.

There is no such thing as the human perception-reaction time. Time to respond varies greatly across different tasks (and even within the same task under different conditions). It can range from .15 second to many seconds. In many cases, the very concept of perception-reaction time simply doesn't apply. When playing computer games your brain doesn't have to perceive everything before (re)acting, it can make predictions about what's (most likely) going to happen next. Just saying that there is a lot more to it than having good reflexes.

One fine thing about BSN is how people will correct you on the incorrect statements that you didn't make. It adds to the randomness very nicely.  :P

I think the research suggested perception and reactionary time was improved with repetion though.

My absolute favourite is a host from the other side of the planet, running the game with 120 fps on a connection that feels like 56k. If you get downed there, you won't get up on your own because that brief window of invulnerability doesn't exist anymore. You use the med kit and are dead again before your character even stands.

The combination of lag and pinpoint accurate enemies means you step around a corner right into the shots fired at you. They see you sooner and react faster.

It is so much fun. But it's also a good way to get reminded that one isn't the perfect player. Hard to feel superior when bleeding out next to some mooks.

That's how all my games are like whether I am playing on-host or off-host. On-host I will be fine but the others won't and off-host I am a dead man walking  .

No, you learn to predict because you get into the same situations again and again and again.

It wasn't that bad when I played on it. The biggest problem was enemies' animations being completely fucked up, making them much harder to predict and hit.

Other than that, it wasn't that bad...
