I am having a problem with the headtracking. If I start a new headtracking animation BEFORE the camera is on these people, why do they still jerk their heads? It seems if you start the headtracking before the camera is on those people, they should already be looking in the correct direction. I have tried everything, slowed down the speed, stretched the animation bar...shortened the animation bar and sped up the headtracking... Still having problems with it looking jerky and unnatural.

Thank you :)

Headtracking starts from the former head orientation. It needs always time for the change. You said the actors are not in the previous shot. Therefore you can set the speed multiplier to a rather high value (100 or 200).

You can choose a very short duration. Target can be anything, e.g. a proxy, if the orginal target is still moving.

Add another headtracking action with a low speed multiplier value if you want a smooth and natural headtracking during the shot.

Animations which manipulate the head position may interfere as well.

Wow, really, that high of a speed? Then set to realign head to true (start) and true (continuously) or true and false? Thank you Yara!! :)

In case you wondered - I submitted incidentally before I finished writing. ;)

It is not necessary to set the 'realign head continously' value to true for the fake headtracking, Luna.

In my opinion the best way to avoid that is to align the animation and the head tracking action. Simulataneous start and end time. If the animation starts later or ends earlier the accurate headtracking curve is more likely to be be interrupted.

It is dependent on the animation and parameters - animation weight and headtracking speed - if you can avoid that completely or at least minimize it.
