Sometimes Origin has the idea that you are offline in one window while online in another. Only death can release us from this suffering.

shootout to whoever (3 m0r0ns) was in the lobby with me yesterday, because after 10 minutes to watch me kiting and solo the whole wave 8 collector with a volus did not teach anything and you died because you stayed the same bloody spot as soon as wave 9 started...

Good job!

Shoutout to whatever PUG was in that Collector/Goddess game that SterlingPhoenix and I played last night. I was the QFI who Abombed you about 10 times before the w10 center hack, where I probably doubled that count. You stayed to the end and got your credits before ragequitting so good on you.

Can you guys go and use any of the huge number of 'PUG-RANT' threads instead of the ONE single lonely thread that is trying to stay positive?

Cheers.

I commented on the pug positively, If not necessarily for their skill level. I can't find it in me to do the latter.

Fair enough, though it reads negatively.

Shameless bump seeing as the N7 lockdown has pushed a lot of things off-page.

Will likely squeeze in some ME3 later - Hopefully some more noteworthy PuGgles will show up.

I played a ton of Geth games straight with Trinity12 and Warden Karento, with rhrbcool  joining us for 3 or so games. All 3 pugs were a blast to play with, with everyone helping out with objectives and putting up a good fight against Geth. Cheers to you guys!

So this evening I landed in a pug in progress, gold geth London, in which two of the players talked all the while over voice chat about combat strategy. One of them sounded like he kinda knew what he was talking about; the other... not so much. I could tell from their accents that they were both American. Now, one of the players - the one I'm dedicating this shoutout to - goes by kirkland693. I thought it was one of the speakers, but it turned out it was actually the silent third pug, who I actually know from before; their name stuck with me because I have a friend in Kirkland WA, but I couldn't remember anything outstanding about any previous games with them.

Anyway, that game went pretty smooth, and after extraction and a lengthy discussion, the two speakers agreed the next game would be platinum. I decided to stay because listening to them made for Lots Of Laughs. But then, just as everyone set up, the host left. Judging from his friend's confused comment, I'm guessing his game glitched out. Soon the other speaker left as well, so Kirkland and I waited for someone else to show up. The pug who entered didn't have many points of any sort, but seemed well armed and equipped, so I readied up and we went in as a trio. The game was preset to geth on giant hazard since those two talkative guys from before seemed to think it was the easiest possible platinum setup, and Kirkland, who inherited as host, didn't seem to mind.

It was real hard work for the first couple waves. During the object delivery on wave 3 I think everyone spent at least half all consumables. No new pugs came to join up until wave 5, I think, when we were graced by the presence of an entirely incompetent flamer who either bled out or was instakilled in the first ten seconds of every wave that followed, but heroically did not quit, and presumably spent all the time laughing at our struggling asses from the spectator seat. Wave 6 was devices; that went rather well and I had hopes, but we got wiped on wave 10, which was another delivery.

In the end, it was a bad game, but I have to hand it out to both Kirkland and the third, non-flamer pug (sorry, don't remember the name), for doing pretty much everything right. Kirkland was kinda suicidal in their revival attempts, but I shouldn't complain because I was on the receiving end of more than a few of those. As usual in situations like this, I felt guilty for the failure. If only I took a tankier kit, or at least something I'm more confident with, if I had better aim, if I was of more use for carrying pizza (can't run with that crap to save my life... literally), or just, you know, generally smarter and faster and much more awesome...

Meh. Long story short, I'm not yet ready to carry people through plat. (Special cases aside. ;))

Pardon the wall of text. I needed to vent.

No need to apologize. on the contrary, thank you for sharing your experience and impressions so generously.

I disagree with your conclusion though. A wave 10 wipe means that you were very close to a win, and against Geth even a tiny amount of bad luck can make the game go bad very quickly. It sounds to me as if your team nearly made it, despite not everyone being as able and equipped as possible.

Besides, worrying about extracting is for scrubs ;) ;)

I'll save that piece of wisdom for my next duo attempt with ex-Clusum. :)

Thanks for the kind words.

Huge shout-out to Buckapocka - Met in PuG and ended up playing matches for about 6hrs. I had a good start but unfortunately once I got comfortable and started taking out dodgy characters I hadn't played much before, things went downhill fast - but we mostly extracted fully, give or take 1-3 partials and only 1 failed match in all that time.

Had a hell of a lot of fun.

Shout-out to Zanifer - Ended up duo-plat - managed wave ten but both died with 5sec remaining - still, counts as mission complete and was a lot of fun.

Thanks for the N7 Fury player "billygothan" (or whatever his name was) who wrecked havoc on Condor/Cerberus earlier today, revived me countless times, and was constantly priming/detonating every damn thing in sight.

And who did not quit even when the host (along with our 4th PUG) evidently gave up, causing a reset of wave 8 and host migration.

This N7 Fury carried the rest of us scrubs to wave 11 with 180k. I feel bad that I probably went down like 20 times as the almighty Human Adept. Boo. :(

I just had the silliest UUP adventure in recent memory. I met these three pugs, Tinalles, AgitatedGopher and Aries54 (if any of y'all are from around here, hello!), and had two good games with them: first one on Rio vs Cerberus, second one on Concor vs Collectors. Then Aries54 left and nobody else joined, so we started the third game as a trio. We got Giant vs Reapers, which was lucky, because the pug who dropped in somewhere during wave 1 did not move from the LZ for the rest of the game. I kid you not. The guy must have been at his keyboard or the game would have kicked him (right?), but he did nothing but just stand - no moving, no shooting, nothing! - for the next 40 minutes. He did generate some aggro, though, and we all found that agreeable, so we revived him whenever we could. You'd think we'd get angry, but it looked like we were all amused more than anything. It was so bizarre I loved it. Here's a screeny.

Anyway, kudos to Tinalles & AgitatedGopher.  :)

Had a collector condor plat too with Caerdon and 2 competent pugs, one with a level 1 harrier TGI, which scored really well. Thanks for the smooth plat condor !

One of the 2 pugs was a french grill, i hope i sent the invite to the right one :) !

Is that all you ever say these days? It wasn't funny the first time so I'm not sure why you have to spam it after everything. Yes, inb4 being predictably quoted followed by another 'reported' comment for calling it out.

Reported. I didn't quote anyone because 1. I refuse to be fancy & 2. I reported every post in this thread.

...Hmm, nope - I've tried it and didn't enjoy. Going back to rolling my eyes every time someone says reported.

On topic, shout out to Command_Codes - Jumped into my lobby and proceeded to rip platinum to pieces. Shame I decided to grace the last match with my absolutely terrible Krogan - Poor guy then proceeded to carry three rounds solo which I'm sure was stressful as hell. That was the end of our glorious run :D

Props to you, if you're here on the forums.

I think I left the lobby before the game you just described, but the two games I played with you two were excellent. So many explosions!
