Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Halo: Master Chief Collection comes out in the month of November, before DAI. To make matters worse, GTA V Next Gen comes out the same day as DAI!

From an advertising perspective, this is a nightmare for Electronic Arts. Perhaps moving the release from October 7 to November 18th could come back and haunt EA?

I mean, DAI I going to sell ok, but with those 3 AAA titles coming out before DAI, it could mean that DAI would have some stiff competition. A Mass Effect 4 release would blow those games out of the water, but DAI just does not have the "umph" of a Mass Effect and therefore may see lower sales because of the saturated month of November. I mean, Advanced Warfare is going to sell across the board, most Xbox One owners will get Halo, and GTA fans as well as those who did not get GTA V on past gen consoles will be flocking towards that.

I am concerned because story DLC as well as future DA games is highly dependent on the sales of DAI. If the game does not perform to standards (sales wise, not review scores which we know will be high), then things could get messy. I always thought that the October 7th release allowed DAI to shine on its own before the heavy hitters like Halo and COD come out, but now DAI will be releasing AFTER those two games and on the SAME day as GTA V next gen!

If the game has great reviews and a serious chance at GOTY awards, which I think it will, the word-of-mouth will be good and it will have long legs.

It's all on BioWare.

Op...These are all games people played already being resold to them. DAI has no problems.

As simple customer don't really care. I have only PC so don't care for Halo. And I think last time I COD play was 10 years ago. Don't care for COD. I am sure I buy GTA. But DA > GTA.

I doubt a majority of the people who were going to pick up CoD, Halo or GTA were interested in DAI to begin with. Very different types of games catering to different play styles. Yeah, they'll probably sell very well, just like anyone would expect them to. But I think DAI will still be successful, and with the addition of MP, might just pull in people who might not have purchased the game to begin with.

I had no plans on buying those other games, and I have no plans now. I only care about DAI coming out. I know many people that are just like me. Are there *that* many people that overlap for COD and DAI?    I don't know about anyone else, but I usually already know what games I'm interested in and I save money up for those games.  I think I heard Far Cry 4 is also out that day or around it, that's another game I'm not interested in and if I was I would already have plans to save up money for it.

To be fair, it's Halo anniversary. Sure it'll sell, but if it's either/or between a new game and a fresh coat of paint on an old one...

Really hope we get a better bundle option. DAI will be the first game for the xbox one, and I'm not enthused about the bundles out there now.

Should go to Off-topic.

I'll get GTA V for sure and maybe COD: AW for my PC. Halo 4 will be ignored.

Don't care about any of those games.

Besides, Inquisition is a RPG while those are FPS and sandbox games. There's bound to be some overlap with people who like both types of games, but overall Inquisition should do fine as it's not like all the RPG fans are going to flock to Halo.

CoD's not something I'd play...

Halo's not even PC...

I was planning on getting GTA V before christmas. They moved the PC version again, they'll have to do some REAL convincing to make me buy the game.

The only one that has any appeal to me is GTA: V and most of those reloads for next gens and pc. I will most likely get GTA: V I always pay for my games ahead of time, so doesn't matter to me when things I want come out paid and done. just wait for the date.

And really if there was a major fantasy RPG reload or something would be more worried, plus its that time of year when a lot of crap gets reloads and comes out so its pointless to worry people will buy stuff that time of year before holidays and after holidays even with things still be down right bleh money wise.

I'll bet the halo overlap is there, at least among the SP players. Looking forward to a coop run through with the new graphics. But, DAI will get far more playtime since no one else needs to play at the same time.

Halo is a FPS that is only on one console. Inquisition is a RPG on multiple platforms.

There isn't as much overlap as you think.

I am not talking about reviews cause I am sure that DAI will be getting 4/5s and 90%+ and so on. What I am talking about is the mainstream audience. Bioware fans is going to buy DAI, even some cross-over Elder Scrolls fans will buy the game, but that casual fan that Bioware so ever wants to play their game, will they be on board? With mainstream gems like Halo, COD, and GTA, where does DAI fit into the equation.

This. Origins released in the same month as CoD Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed 2 among other notable games and we know how well it ended up selling. If you build a good game, they will come.

Umm... I think there's still plenty of people that don't like FPS (me induced) and GTA V, well... Same game with improved graphics... I may buy it, but not at launch. Gamers who love RPG's gonna get DAI for sure, so no worries.

It will put a dent in first and second week sales. Depending on the size of that dent the worry is legit. Luckily, Dragon Age won't be competing with GTAV on 360 and PS3.

The spiteful me is glad for this. If Bioware hadn't pushed back the release date, they wouldn't have had to deal with these popular AAA games. Of course, I really doubt the majority of consumers of those games are going to be interested in DAI and vice versa, so it should be okay.

I was going to buy The Master Chief Collection, GTA V and Dragon Age: Inquisition on launch day, but since I'm just a filthy casual who doesn't have the mental capacity to understand a game with the complexities of Dragon Age: Inquisition, I guess I'll just pass.

November is going to be massive. No less than five big names hitting store shelves and getting into the hands of millions within 30 days of each other.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Grand Theft Auto V (PS4/XBO)
Far Cry 4
Dragon Age: Inquisition

Although I'm only getting Call of Duty, Halo and Dragon Age on release, it's going to be a very good month for videogames overall.

Dragon Age isn't necessarily in direct competition with these games, given the respective genre of each, but there's going to be a lot of money thrown at the industry, Dragon Age included. I'll be interested to see the charts when November is over to see what did come out on top. My initial guess would be Call of Duty, unless that many people are interested in picking up Grand Theft Auto V on current gen.

Dragon Age Origins survived being released the same month as Modern Warfare 2.  It's going to be fine.
