What I like about the release date is that it's five days after my last exam so I'll have nothing stopping me from going into a gaming coma. And I'm sure the paid, professional marketing people have a pretty good grasp on when would be the best time to publish a game.
DA:I's release date is the most crowded week I've ever seen for gaming.

Even though it's not a big powerhouse franchise in gaming, WWE 2K15 is also coming out in November 18 in USA and November 21 everywhere else now. Talk about a crowded month.

I am more concerned about the new Ip's being released. Sunset Overdrive is going to be buried under the heavy hitters. LBP3, GTA V, COD, 2 Assassin's Creed games, Dragon Age and Halo in the space of 3 weeks.

DAI, Far Cry 4 and GTA 5 all releasing on the same day was good news to me cause that means a midnight release is all but confirmed at my Game Stop

Only game on that list besides DAI I would bother with is CoD, which I planned on only renting. I don't keep CoD games, so why buy them. Once I finish the SP campaign I am done with it, so no use having it around.

It would be a bad call, I think. It costs quite a bit of money to delay a game, nevermind the fact that it's been delayed twice already. They've already got enough people sweating them and anticipating a disaster, they don't need to add more fuel.
Plus, and probably most importantly, a delay would most likely put them into a post-Thanksgiving release date so no Black Friday sales to boost their first month numbers.

This thread certainly got a lot of laughs out of me. It's not as if DAI will only be on sale for one day only. Jeez. Plus, the majority of people who will be buying this game on release day will have already pre-ordered it. It'll do fine. And as long as it ends up being as good as it looks, it'll keep doing just fine.

Bold Prediction: This will be the last Dragon Age game of this series.
Outside of these walls, no other gaming community is speaking favorably about DA:I and I can't see how the game will sell well when it releases amongst a swarm of highly-anticipated titles.
People keep saying that those other games are for different audiences, but those same people forget that DA:I was created to draw in people from different audiences.
The casual gamer that Bioware has spent most of this development-cycle trying to attract will be too busy throwing frag-grenades to care about DA:I, and the formerly hardcore Dragon Age fans (who Bioware sacrificed to draw in the casuals) will probably take a wait-and-see approach -- which means first-months sales will likely be disastrous (I'm predicting ~2 million).
If I were a major shareholder of EA I'd demand that they release this game sometime in October -- for a return on my investment, and for the sake of the Dragon Age IP.

Its unlikely to be the last game, I believe it was Laidlaw that said that they still have enough plans and plots to stretch to Dragon Age 5

Not sure where you had been but most of the communities outside of BSN are hopeful and pleasant surprised with the evolution of DA:I, the only community I saw that hates it, is on The Witcher forum lol
Actually I see a lot of people asking if they can play the game without playing the last ones.

They've won a ridiculous amount of awards for it during E3, so it's certainly not just this forum that's hyped for it.

First month sales of 2 million is far from disastrous.
Dark Souls, Dragon Age, Mass Effect had similar figures.
Although I do think the Dragon Age franchise may have a problem with the naming convention once they get to the year Dragon:99.

I believe that word of mouth and the popularity of game of thrones will make this game reach well above 2 mill. I know a bunch of people who want to play this simply because "It's like Game of Thrones" who would other wise never play a game set in a medieval fantasy world.

There are no worries here. If ppl buy these other game, i feel sorry for them, simple bc, besides GTA, the others have been out already and they are just being rebranded as collector or some other scheme. Plus remember, DA:I coming out on PC, Xbox, PS, and next gen, that marks out Halo, can only play that on console, and who cares about COD its been the same crap with new maps re-branded, why would you pay AAA prices for that. DA:I has its own combat style, character customization, and a fresh new but continuing story, cant get that with COD or GTA and in my mind its hard for Halo too.

Funny I remember Bioware wouldn't rush or milk a single game into a franchise let alone over milk a franchise like DA and ME are being milked, DAI just might do well in it's own regards but the other "AAA" games will be overshadowing it with ease.

Milking is what those other AAA games do. Releasing year after year. We haven't had a new DA since 2011.

Read the comments on a single piece of DAI coverage. I guarantee you'll find: People complaining about ME3, people complaining about DA2, people complaining about bioware pandering to the casuals.

Why go search for that out there, when I can get it in basically any thread in this very forum?
And I have, btw, read plenty of DAI articles and, yes, there are people still whining about years old games, but I've also seen excitement for DAI like hella.
