I am using windows vista and it says I have not dowloaded the latest directx. This is my first computer game can someone help me with this. What is the latest directx?

You could probably use directx 10 or 11, but you don't need that to play the game. Try using this utility from Microsoft
to update to the version of directx right for your computer.

I did that and an error message popped up and said this "An internal system error occured. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem." Can you help me out here?

You need to download Direct X.
Look on the disc, there should be a folder that says something about Direct X. Or just google it.. It's quite easy really.
