Has anyone else encountered AIU's without RM and how experienced do you think they were? Do you personally spec out of RM for any reason?

Well, when the class first came out HardcoreFish and I did a Gold duo without Repair Matrix and got 10 waves survived. Repair Matrix is a crutch and anyone who uses it is a scrub.

EDIT: we didn't have much experience with the game at that time as well

I love how anything in this game that works well is automatically called "overpowered", "easy button" or "god mode". All the really awesome guns got nerfed & suck now thanks to that mentality. Is it really so terrible to be able to kill a Preatorian or Geth Prime sometime before the century ends? All you players that whined about "overpowered" forever ruined a lot of my guns. Thanks a lot! The Krysae, Falcon & Acolyte are all useless crap now thanks to you! I was able to enjoy them for a very short amount of time when they were first released but you guys just wouldn't keep your mouths shut.

I also have to put up with those annoying Geth Bombers now thanks you & your stupid Geth Gold White farming BS.

Just because you personally may think a gun is too powerful doesn't mean you have to ruin it for me & everybody else. If you don't like it just don't use it! If somebody else is using it leave the game & don't play with them. Unfortunately Bioware listened to all the whining nerfers & ruined most of the guns. Meanwhile they never bothered to fix all the problems like ops packs that hardly ever work & Geth Primes that stagger you to death & won't even let you activate anything on the D-pad. And grab-happy Preatorians that can sync kill you from a mile away. And getting stuck on cover constantly when you're trying desperately to not get grabbed by a Banshee or Preatorian. Oh yeah, and that store! That piece of **** broken store. Nothing ever got fixed because all they ever did was try to make the pissy pansy crybabies happy by nerfing all the guns.

They really were OP though and I guess you are just being sarcastic.

Maybe they were OP BEFORE platinum. But now that they added platinum they could have been a lot of fun. But all the pissy pansy crybabies ruined it for us. They should have just STFU & left everything as it was. Who's to say whats OP anyway? Maybe OP to you is weak as crap to the next guy? OP is just an opinion. Now that we have platinum I want the original Krysae back. That gun rocked!

So all weapons should be balanced around a difficulty that only a minority of players play? If you can't do well on Platinum with the Krysae, Falcon or the Acolyte as they are today then you are a shame to BSN.

L2P and all that....

I personally refuse to ever run without Repair Matrix. Not for the auto revives; lag makes this unreliable. No, this is the absolute last thing on my mind when popping Repair Matrix. It's worth it for three crucial reasons, and these three reasons are so important, that I actually legitimately get angry at times PUGs refuse to use it and then still have the nerve to cry into their mics about how they don't have RM and need help.

Primary Reasons:

- Movement Speed Increase: You basically have an on/off switch to become a drell, but tougher. Considering Drell are considered to be amazing by many players of higher skill levels, this one should speak for itself.

- Damage Reduction: I'm sorry, but if you CAN have DR, there's really not much of an excuse to NOT use it. It's amazing how often I watch people who insist on playing without DR die horrible deaths that would have been EASILY survivable WITH it. Sure, it's only 20% (Assuming you went 4a 5b, 6a) but a very temporary 95% after an auto-res, which should enable you to fight your way out of almost any scenario, barring sync-kills.

- Shield Regen: The AIU, with Repair Matrix, is the ONLY infiltrator that gets shields back WHEN CLOAKED. Tapping Cloak for damage purposes will not bring your shield recovery to a screeching halt, which is amazing in multiple scenarios. Ravagers and Primes, for example, will become incapable of killing you, as the shields restored between shots of the burst will just mean the next shot needs to take down your shields again. This, coupled with the DR, adds a lot more sturdiness than you might expect.

- Just a refresher on why the above are important: you're using SHOTGUNS and a power that STOPS SHIELD RECOVERY. Mobility and durability are crucial.

Secondary reasons:

- The Alternative is fitness. 775/1163 vs 500/750? The damage reduction and shield regen more than pay for themselves within the first seconds of use.

- While unreliable, the auto-res is nice when it does work. Still, this pales in comparison to the reasons listed above.

- They're grenade based, which means you can pop them during your cooldowns, unlike the comparable Biotic Focus.

Let me make this very clear. I know a lot of people hate powers like this and Stim Packs as they limit offensive grenades. Well, the very simple fix is don't use multiple grenade users! If I see someone that relies on grenades come into the room while I'm an AIU, I'll actively change characters to be courteous. Why do I point this out? So everyone doesn't go all "stop hogging my 'nades" on me.

I use Repair Matrix for the lols mostly. I find it hilarious when my shields drops and gets regenerated over 5 times in a single second before I finally fall down (and then get up instantly). The anime voice of the AIU also contributes to the lol factor.

I only use two RMs, because I don't want to complain about missing Grenades like Sims complaining about a missing toilet. My Cryo Venom + Snap IceCream involves all 7 'nades be used recklessly!

I always use repair matrix since it allows me to push my own limits without penalty, and I subsequently get into absurdly fun and chaotic combat situations.

As far as it being over powered, or a crutch, I really don't care.  AIU is fun to play, and as far as I am concerned, that is all the reason I need.

I honestly think for average folks it´s more about they don´t fully understood how good RM is.

Not seeing very clearly what it can do, thus they don´t know how to fit it into their playstyle. It also eats grenades, but doesn´t do anything offensive, which is probably another nail in coffin to them.

I don't put much thought towards whether PUGs are using their powers correctly, otherwise I'd get irritated every time an asari adept tried to repeatedly kite and stasis-snipe brutes.

*wishes he'd saved that image of the cuteified AIU stealing everyone's grenades he saw a month or two ago*
