If I rivaled him and kept Anders alive, do you think he'll actively seek out Anders with his troops if he manages to take the throne? Being pro-mage has always scared me souly for this reason because I don't want other mages suffering from Sebastian on Andes's behalf. I know many mages will suffer for his actions, but I rather Sebastian not be the one dissing out his own form of "Justice" because of it.

He says it no matter what, even when he's on a friendship path.

He might try, but I don't think he'll succeed.

Btw, mages now have enough enemies as it it, I don't think Sebastian will be something more dangerous than the rest.

I'd like to imagine that Sebastion takes a very dark turn if Anders lives and that he just mercilessly kills mages with his bow like some sort of rogue whos only comfort in life is taking the life of mages. It would be a interesting character development me thinks?

As do I, my cannon won't have "married" Sebastion, but i'm very interested in seeing how this affects Hawke in DA:I.

I really doubt we will have any real contact with Sebastian or Anders, we might send agents into the free marches, but i can't see him marching an army all the way to ferelden or Orlais, so i think its just going to be a DLC (which would alienate everyone who did kill Anders) or we are only going to hear of it in conversation.

Sebastian is a bum. Not worried about my mages, least of all the "freedom fighter" Anders.

I always kill Anders, he is no longer the happy warden with Sir pouncealot :( he is now just a poor shell of a man with nothing but vengence on his mind a monster that only proves the templar's point of view correct of all mages which is bad :<

I wouldn't worry about Sebastian. He'll most likely try, but he won't success and he'll probably be executed.

Hawke for Princess of Starkhaven!

Fixed that for you ;)

My headcanon for my mage-hunter rogue Hawke is that as soon as she became Viscountess she pledged financial and military support to Sebastian and they led troops together to retake Starkhaven. Shortly after Sebastian is named Prince, they announce their engagement... and then Hawke disappears.

Headcanon is headcanon, but... I hope a rival romance with Sebastian has SOME effect in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Ugh, I'm glad I skipped that DLC, I can't stand people like sebastian. Even though I must admit it would be fun to rival him 100%.

ooh sebastien ,the only think you got right through the whole game is 'your precious Anders'.  I don't think your bow no matter how long it is, is gonna be able to touch one of his blond locks.

and like @Emissaryoflove said am really not worried about my fellow mages ! they going to unchain their powers now that they know they are not alone, and specially not about the freedom fighter Anders, And specially not with Hawke beside him !!

If that cancelled Exalted March DLC was really about Sebastian making due on his promise to rally Starkhaven's forces (which he does whether you kill Anders or not), and if the DLC was really fully or almost fully incorporated into Inquisition as the very early dev comments about DAI would say - yes, I want Sebastian back. I want him back in full force, leading both Starkhaven and Chantry forces, becoming the man he was always meant to be.

I don't care if you like him or not, agree with him or not, the potential for good storytelling in this subplot is too good to throw away. We're always complaining that things we do don't have major impact in the long run; think of all the possibilities for follow through that could come from Sebastian reappearing, changed and tempered by the events of DA2. He could be your enemy, he could be your ally, but something's still hanging from that open ending, and it needs to be addressed again.

You'll never play as Hawke again so it's not your problem anymore.  That's how I see it, at least.

I'm hoping Sebastian has a cameo in some tavern where he's become a bitter drunk. His armor is dirty and worn and the Andraste belt buckle is broken and dangling.   And all he does is ramble about it being murder.

I dump Anders and let him live 90% of the time.   The other 10% I run off with him.

The Chantry/Templars have become too corrupt and have strayed from the path. I also cannot forget the fact that Alain was being raped in his quarters.

One of my favorite characters.

I use Sebastian as my judge of how "normal" people react to mages.

If Mage Hawke shows that Mages are not unwilling to police themselves.

That Mages CAN be decent people.

Then he'll fight to stop the Templars and help you win their freedom.

If you show that you're all a bunch of terrorists like Anders.

Then you don't deserve freedom in his eyes.

I agree with you 100%. my preferred way to deal with this situation is if you shared Anders, in DAI you will have a encounter where Sebastian is leading his men, and Anders is leading a group of mages and it's up to you to either, help one or the other, or simply stay out the conflict. The winning side would offer to join you if you helped them defeat the other possibly?

Sebastian is a very polarizing character it seems.

What's got so many people up in arms about him?
