Why would Sebastian not need a belt buckle?

...Why would Sebastian not have pants on?

....

...SNARKY HAWKE!

LOL! I wonder what's blood doing on belts then.

In all seriousness, his threat made me laugh, during the whole game Sebastian cannot do a single thing without help of Hawke, in fact he cannot even make decisions. How many vows he has broken? I always saw the threat as confused immature man who rambled because he was angry. I really do think he is incapable of doing it, least of all thinking about the aftermath.

I think Seb could.

Would he? Probably not. He's prone to agonizing over things, for sure, especially when he values them. I do have a hard time imagining Sebastian attacking a city full of people who aren't Anders, with his subjects, assuming he pulls off the whole coup without a protagonist in his back pocket (which occasionally happens!).I agree, I think that his reaction is driven by anger and shock. Which is part of the reason why Sebastian is one of my favorite companions, all his warts included. He has some very natural reactions, instead of perfectly evaluating everything.

While Sebastian does most of the things we see with Hawke's help, if you do some codex hunting, the boy is actually building up a powerbase that doesn't sound worthless... Up until he runs smackdab into the "Why do I really want this?" issue. Course, from Hawke's perspective, everyone needs her help all the time. But the characters do do stuff in the intervening years, and Sebastian, even if rivaled, sticks around Kirkwall for a couple reasons. He says the most pressing one is protecting the Grand Cleric, and Hawke if you're besties.

He's totally going to try to kill Anders, though. I'll eat my hat if even the shiniest happiest most diplomatized Sebastian would not try to put an arrow in his skull at least once.

As for blood... Psh, he's had worse. I saw his rivalry power! XD

I honestly want Sebastian to end up ruthless. I like to think that the devastation he suffered from Elthina's death pushed him over the edge. He still believes in the Maker, but he went all darkside and embraced the Prince of Starkhaven persona over Brother of the Chantry.

If that cancelled Exalted March DLC was really about Sebastian making due on his promise to rally Starkhaven's forces (which he does whether you kill Anders or not), and if the DLC was really fully or almost fully incorporated into Inquisition as the very early dev comments about DAI would say - yes, I want Sebastian back. I want him back in full force, leading both Starkhaven and Chantry forces, becoming the man he was always meant to be.

I don't care if you like him or not, agree with him or not, the potential for good storytelling in this subplot is too good to throw away. We're always complaining that things we do don't have major impact in the long run; think of all the possibilities for follow through that could come from Sebastian reappearing, changed and tempered by the events of DA2. He could be your enemy, he could be your ally, but something's still hanging from that open ending, and it needs to be addressed again.

Probably him hanging around Starkhaven's Chanter's Board trying to recruit an army.

I'd love the chance to give that indecisive chantry boy a piece of my mind.

If Seb shows up, he's getting my support. He's probably the nicest person in the game, bar Merrill and Varric. He helps out, he talks about the maker but doesn't shove it down your throat like someone does with mages(ANDERS). Plus, Anders deserves to be beaten to death ten times over. He complains and complains about the Templars but almost never complains about the Chantry. If you do the main quests in Act 3, you have access to the barracks and he can plant his dangerous "Point Makers" there. But no. That's TOOO INTELLIGENT.

He'll just plant them in a place that has no strategic value and WILL ONLY MAKE THE TEMPLARS MORE EMBOLDENED TO KILL MAGES FOR NO REASON. I mean, this is the guy who wants to help mages? What an idiot! Support him if you want but he's only good at speeches and being a figurehead. His ideas are definitely not useful for anyone seriously trying to liberate mages.

At least Hawke might finally get the chaste bastard into bed then .. and it only took her what, ten years? 'Champion of Kirkwall' indeed..

Thank the Maker, my Purple Hawke finally got that chastity belt off him. ;)
Andraste doesn't need to see what happens next.

I don't really like Sebastian at all personally, but that's different from what I think of him as a character. I think his character has potential to become much more interesting. When he threatened me to my face, that pissed me off but also showed some conviction finally. I'd like to see him stand by his word this time, and hopefully my Hawke will be waiting. Her and Seb didn't get along, but she finally found some respect for him in the end when he stopped wavering about having others do his dirty work for him, and made a decision for himself. Whether he goes off the deep dark end like Anders did and goes a bit crazy or just keeps his promise of bringing her a fight, at least he'll finally be an interesting character.

I have a Hawke who is in love with Anders and will kill Sebastian if he comes after him (I'm debating whether or not to recruit him at all in that world state for that reason)

I also have a Hawke who is in love with Sebastian and killed Anders for him.

Then I have a Hawke who encouraged Sebastian to stay in the Chantry, spared Anders, and told him to GTFO. Dunno if I want Sebastian around in that world state, either, since that Hawke would want Anders to redeem himself somehow.

I always kill Anders, he is no longer the happy warden with Sir pouncealot :( he is now just a poor shell of a man with nothing but vengence on his mind a monster that only proves the templar's point of view correct of all mages which is bad :<

This is basically my thoughts. I loved Anders in awakening, or as i call him "The Mage with a mouth" and thought Ser pounce a lot was awesome. Then in 2 he changed, all he did was complain about the plight of mages and how angry he was at the templars thinking all mages are evil. So what does he do? Goes out and shows that mages are dangerous by blowing up a church killing hundreds of innocent people and helping start a war. My "canon" ending for 2 is side with the mages and kill Anders. Sebastian never really bothered me all that much.

His threat will be hanging on some Chantry board where he looks for some chump to help him out while he sits his ass in the Chantry and prays for a sign from the Maker.

I very much liked Sebastian, but i felt that the DLC could of been expanded more. I really would of liked more play through or information regarding Starkhaven. In my play through I did kill Anders because in my own opinion it was the best outcome for everyone, I felt as though he was getting darker and more unhinged, it was more of a mercy.

  • Justice was becoming vengeance
  • Anders was suffering because of Justice inside him.
  • He did blow up the chantry with all those innocent people inside,

So i guess Sebastian would not come and invade Kirkwall in my play through, however in my head cannon I can see Female Hawke and Sebastian marrying for political reasons (Much like Alistair and Anora), Hawke eventually helping Sebastian re-take Starkhaven, and rebuilding Kirkwall as the Viscount. I see it as It would be part of his duty to help the people in these lands after what they went through with the Qunari invasion and then with the all all out templar mage war, Kirkwall is essentially leaderless without Elthina, Meredith or Orsino, the civilians are the ones that suffered as a result. So as a brother and prince it would be sort of his duty.

What do other people think?

I imagine Sebby would have to take a number behind all the demons waiting in line to ransack that place. In any case, I supported his idea of killing Anders for the death of Elthina as well. As insufferable a wishy washy blanket that she was, my Hawke considered her a friend, albeit a bit useless. I made things pretty easy for Sebastian though. With Anders dead he can focus on training his arrows on something else.

I suspect Anders will be much more useful in killing demons than Sebastian if he cared to do it. He cannot be tempted, he cannot be possessed and he is technical abomination and former spirit healer, both of which indicate he is a very powerful mage.

How about that time he went banana and summoned demons and attacked you? Or that time you wanted to trick a demon and Justice went nuts?

He was controlled by Cory through the taint, surely you know that.

You have no right to sell Feynriel to a demon, so he turned on you. If Feynriel asks to be made Tranquil Justice doesn't object at all of you make him tranquil.

Edit: also devs have said that summoning demons and abomination from dry ground is none canon and story and gameplay segregation. Its impossible and the veil must be torn first and that needs blood magic. Its no wonder there is no conversation about them.

If someone sleep could control him unwillingly, what do you thing might happen with the Breach and tears all over the place? Just because he feels some Fade breeze it wouldn't make him cheery. It'll be even worse because then Justice/Vengeance will dominate.

Nice way of ignoring what I said.

So, I guess I have no right to BS a demon because Justice can't make a difference.

I think my chances of survival would be better on my own.

Edit: BTW, nice of you to turn this into an Anders praising/Sebastian bashing thread.
