Can my Elf Inquisitor stab Andraste? I really don't care if she helped the Elves, her damned religion screwed over the entire Elf race in Thedas.

I'm actually curious how your companions will react to this if you choose to embrace it or even if you dont'.

Will Cullen, Leliana, or Cassandra bring it up?

Oh, btw, I'm sort of Mage Jesus?

I can just see Sera mocking you constantly with the title.

Inquisitor: Sera open that chest.

Sera:  Yes oh great Herald! Anything you say!  In your name we serve!

Inquisitor: *angry glare*

Inquisitor: That's it, you're on the list.

Sera: Ohhhhh, am I on the damned dirty enemies of the Maker list?

Inquisitor: No, I'm making you a Saint.

Sera: YOU WOULDN'T DARE!

I'd prefer oblivious acceptance of any such sarcasm.

Of course someone had to start it in this thread. Blame a dead woman for something that has:

A ) Nothing to do with her.

B ) Nothing to do with her religion, more to do with the institution that came after her.

C ) A hell of a lot to do with with what the elves themselves did.

Wait for me to get my popcorn.

I'm going to milk the title for all its worth. I'm hoping its a strong enough tool to sway the masses into accepting mages. Can they really object when Andraste's chosen one claims it her will?

*Raises hand*

Each of my Inquisitors, like it or not, are destined to save Thedas. So they will. And they will do it by EMBRACING their fate. None of this 'I don't believe in the Maker' sh*t. Plenty of 'Maker, they will be done', or 'I'm your chosen one, Andraste? Seriously, you must be out of your mind' or 'Holy F*ck, GREEN LADY OF THE FADE! I'll do what you say, please don't kill me!'

Why stop there?

Why not let it go completely to your head, until you might even start believing it yourself?

On another note, even if you're Dalish you can probably do some good for your people as the Herald of Andraste. You could probably set forth quite a lot of Elf friendly reforms at the small, small price of a few new Chants of Light "straight from Andraste herself".

Can a Dalish object and refer to themselves as the Harbinger of Falon'Din, since he's the Creator who spends the most time dealing with the Fade?

Plus calling yourself Harbinger is awesome (and already a great meme) in of itself.

Inquisitor: No, I'm making you a Saint.

Sera: YOU WOULDN'T DARE!

Inquisitor: It would totally suck, wouldn't it? People groveling at your feet, coming to you to solve all of THEIR problems, your annoying little elf companions deciding to mock you every time you ask them to do a simple task....

Sera:.....I'll be good.

Inquisitor: To right you will. Now, pick the damn lock.

*Sera gets busy, Cassandra walks close to the Inquisitor*

Cassandra: Surely, Inquisitor, you weren't serious?

Inquisitor: As serious as you were about cutting my throat the first time we met. *walks away*

Cassandra: Maker help us all.

Dorian: Seconded.

Probably not.

It wouldn't have much meaning to the people the Inquizzy would be dealing with on a daily basis.

True, but I wonder if in a few hundred years, the Chantry or people may eventually try to claim that there was no such thing as a Mage Inquisitor. We've already seen in Origins a book speculating about a Mage Andraste which had apparently been rescued from several book burnings, so if Andraste was a Mage, the knowledge of it might have been suppressed?

But hopefully we'll be able to change people's mind about Mages if we do a particularly good job?

I think I'll play my first character in a similar way to Kelsier from Mistborn. Not believing he's the real deal, but enough of a showboat to go along with it for both giving the people hope and to stroke his own ego.

Well, the warden did a good job, but if you, say, ask for the magi boon at the end of DA:O, its categorically denied. I think the inquisitor has a better shot with Andraste on their side. And hopefully a culture shift is swift enough that beneficial changes for mages can take root during and immediately after DA:I, and that they'll be very difficult to take away.

Noble/Diplomatic Human Mage Inquisitor: Believes in the Maker, but is not extremely devout. She does admire Andraste, and will try to live up to her example.

Direct/Aggressive Elf Rouge Inquisitor: EXTREMELY pro-Dalish. Believes in the Creators, not the Maker. She will probably threaten people who use this title.

Sarcastic/Charming Qunari Warrior Inquisitor: Laid-back and non-religious. Andraste? Who is that? Eh, whatever.

It occurs to me, that a female human (non-mage) Inquisitor could be able to leverage the situation to the point where the Inquisitor is named the next Divine at the end of the game.

I really want that to be possible.

Frankly, I'm not sure the Divine is anywhere near as important as the Inquisitor.

It's like King Bhelen and Paragon Dwarf Warden.

I'm not sure the comparison is apt.  After all, Paragon Dwarf Warden's opinion on how Orzammar should be run only matters if he's in Orzammar.  But since he's never in Orzammar, only King Bhelen's(or Harrowmont's) opinion on any particular subject matters.

The Divine versus the Herald of Andraste may be different, but things would definitely be simpler if the Divine is the Herald of Andraste.

I feel like someone should make a series of Scumbag meme posters for the boons.

Divine Beatrix III - "Mage ends Apocalypse. Refuses to allow Circle Independence"

Alistair/Anora - "Dalish ends Apocalyse. Goes back on promise to give them land"

Alienage Guard - "CIty Elf ends Apocalypse, saves City. Racism against Elves continues."

Harrowmont - "Casteless Dwarf end Apocalypse, makes him King. Passes laws against Casteless".

(And Beatrix gets another if you helped Brother Burkel. "Dwarf founds Chantry in Orzammar, considers Exalted March")

Origins did take place back in 9:30 if i recall.

Still its a bit confusing given that in DA 2 Justinia was mentioned as Divine before 9:34.

:P That said given that Beatrix is an entirely off screen character known only for her drooling and sleeping habits along with advanced senility, its probably for the best she was never featured.

Isn't the Exalted March considered because Brother Burkel is killed during an arrest designed to further harass the Andrastian dwarves?
