Origins did take place back in 9:30 if i recall.

Still its a bit confusing given that in DA 2 Justinia was mentioned as Divine before 9:34.

:P That said given that Beatrix is an entirely off screen character known only for her drooling and sleeping habits along with advanced senility, its probably for the best she was never featured.

She was Divine in Dawn of the Seeker.

Isn't the Exalted March considered because Brother Burkel is killed during an arrest designed to further harass the Andrastian dwarves?

I didn't want to be the one to say it, but yes.  Those are the facts.

That's what I meant, Origins was in 9:30 and Beatrix was still Divine then. 9:34 was when she died and was replaced by Justinia.

She's a little less doddery and elderly in Dawn of the Seeker, although I'm not certain if she either had nerves of brass or a major martyr complex since her reaction to a High Dragon flying towards her is to just stand there and await death?

Of course.

As She was purified by flame, so too shall these heretics. I speak in Her name, for I am Her Herald. No more shall they attack the Maker's children in the darkness. If they will not come to the Light, I will drag them to it.

They were incompetent fools. You'll find that I, and my Inquisition, are anything but.

Indeed.  Incompetence is probably the best word to describe a cult of daedra hunters who's only response to a vampire with two storm thralls at their side is, "That spell looks dangerous!  Keep your distance!"

Spoiler

rofl...wtf... xD

Okay, so about that topic... um... no, I'm still thinking it would be best if my Inquisitor just played along to reap the rewards.  There won't be any genuine religious conversion unless that's really Andraste inside the Fade beyond a shadow of a doubt.  If that does seem to be the case... well I guess he wouldn't have any reason to denounce her.  That said, he won't be any less greedy and immoral, since the Maker probably wouldn't care one way or the other.

Playing a non-religious character in a quasi-Medieval setting wouldn't make much sense, so I'll have my human and qunari Inquisitors embrace it. Plus having to listen to constant edgy atheist anti-Chantry rants would get old fast.

A cynical and devious mind would plot to take advantage of the status of Herald of Andraste for the benefit of the inquisition regardless of personal belief.

I'm actually curious how your companions will react to this if you choose to embrace it or even if you dont'.

Will Cullen, Leliana, or Cassandra bring it up?

Oh, btw, I'm sort of Mage Jesus?

I'm planning on my first playthrough to play a male warrior who is a devout Andrastian but doesn't necessarily believe everything the Chantry says or does.  He won't say it was Andraste that saved him as he can't say for sure if it was her or a fade spirit but he will think that the Maker saved him in some fashion.  If anyone tries to question him on it, he'll at least try to say something along those lines if it's possible for us to in game.

As for him being called the Herald of Andraste and taking advantage of that, he'll probably follow along with it for the advantages it brings to the Inquisition.

Well "Herald" implies that we are a messenger of some sort...a........"prophet" if you will....and since Andraste was a prophetess herself, it would make the inquisitor (Herald of Andraste) a prophet of a prophet........we must go deeper..... B)

As soon as possible, I am appointing a herald to spread word of the Inquisition.

OH YES.  I smell lots of money making opportunities as well as...erm...free access opportunities. My Dalish mage will have a great time trolling the shemlens.

"The Herald of Andraste requests money and donation from the faithful members of the Chantry for the Inquisition efforts."

"Spread your legs to receive the blessings of the Herald, shemlen of the Chantry."

:P

My human doesn't care for your religions. Call him what you must, and he'll help as much as he can, but it won't be in the name of Andraste or any other belief.

Shepard will always be the true Bioware Jesus

Shepard is no Son of the God. He is god himself.

Come back in time as elder one, which means we will loose. For you can not simply fight Shepard and live to tell the tale.

Wasnt Burkel and his followers literally pissed on paragons statues and mocked traditional dwarven religion?

Pretty sure there was no mention of that. The Dwarven Assembly began repressing them because he was gaining many converts.
