Yeah... if you believe that as a Juggernaut I'll tank all the Banshees for you, then you're going to have a bad time. ![]()
I actually prefer you to contribute, but I was just saying I would rather have a melee puggernaut than say, a useless TGI who takes my grenades and doesn't kill much of anything.
Dude, you're sounding a little entitled right now, just so you know.

Are you implying that I am not contributing when I play Juggernaut? Cause I am pretty sure that killing ~50% of all the enemies on my own is kind of contributing. Just saying.
I don't get all the complaints. Bad players are bad players, no matter what kit they use. There is next to no teamplay, so we are ecstatic when it happens (accidently). This has nothing to do with Juggernauts. If they didn't exist, then people would complain about Krogans or Flamers or Snap Freeze or the Huntress.
Me? I prefer to complain about the players, not the kits they are using. The kits aren't at fault here. But the [insert expletive of choice] who run straight into danger, who push all the buttons all the time and hope something will drop dead before they do, who have no clue whatsoever how this game works... I think we should complain about them. And those guys don't just play Juggernaut.
Ill say it. Your contributing to the enemy team, blocking my shots. Are you implying that I am not contributing when I play Juggernaut? Cause I am pretty sure that killing ~50% of all the enemies on my own is kind of contributing. Just saying.

I don't even have a Hex Shield and if I am forced to use heavy melee to recharge my shields, then I make sure I don't stand between my team and the enemy. In exchange I hope they are intelligent enough to leave my obvious target alone and go for something out of my range first.
I had a guy follow me around and headshot every enemy I drained - which is a problem since I really needed those shields to survive. But I mentioned that part about teamwork in my previous post.
Could write more but I'd just repeat what I said in my very first post on page 2.
I played with a Puggernaut yesterday, (U)Rio/(U)collectors/platinum, who was using the Batarian gauntlet. My favorite part of that game was when I was ripping into a Praetorian full blast with my PPR 8 and he still got the kill with his Raptor 1
, whats not to love about that.
The jugg is an underused class, just like how zombies are an underused medium.
I like trains. ![]()

Oh wait... (gestures at copious amounts of posts complaining about Kroguards, Flamers, SF, and about half the powers/kits in the game)
Whiners gonna whine.

I think the point being is if you play as a Juggernaut the Banshees will tank you
I see far more Infiltrators than I do Jugg's - And anytime Jugg's show up, they tend to be sniper rifle weilding DPS ones. I'm not sure if some of them even know how to heavy melee - Too busy trying to snipe kills, or spamming siege pulse.
Well, it is Platinum
I'd have no problem with the sheer abundance of Juggernauts if they fit one of two categories. Instead, they almost all seem to fit the 3rd.
1) Offensive without dying pathetically. If you can pull it off, all power to you. Just don't be offended if I like to keep my distance; siege pulse's sound actually gives me headaches.
2) Defensive; keeps stuff off me so I can kill faster, it's a perfectly valid combo. And let's face it, if you're complaining about hex shield blocking your shots, I need to ask why the hell you're not using any kind of piercing at all.
3) LOLOL SIEGE PULSE SO STRONG I THINK I'LL FORGET ANYTHING ELSE EXISTS BUT EQUIP HEAVY GUNS TO KILL MY COOLDOWNS ANYWAYS OH LOL OOPS I DIED REZ ME PLOX THANKS OH WHOOPS I DIED AGAIN WAIT HOW DID THAT GUY REVIVING ME GET HIS 15 REVIVES MEDAL ON WAVE 1 LOLOLOLOL I NEED TO MAKE UP FOR THE SUCK WITH MORE PULSE OH MAN IT'S SUCH A GOOD POWER HOW ARE THESE 3 BRUTES PINNING ME TO THE CORNER NOT DYING YET I MEAN REALLY.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying siege pulse is a bad power. I'm saying it's an often misused power. If you're playing an adept, for example, do you throw your powers around when it's too dangerous, and should take cover/ evade? Then WHY does almost every juggernaut I meet act like every button but L2 (PS3 controller) is broken? "It's what this class does." Bull****. I play it balanced just fine without giving anyone a 5 revive medal on Gold, much less 15 revives on very early waves. I WELCOME the juggernaut who actually heavy melees EVER (except with the Batarian Gauntlet because what the actual ****) because they actually stay in the game.
Since I bashed the puggernaut earlier, I will try to be fair now and defend the class. The kit itself is solid. A well placed hexshield can cover an exposed flank for 3-10 (depending on the difficulty and amount of punishment being thrown its way) seconds reliably which is enough to nuke a target, make reasonable progress on a device, cover a pizza, or create breathing room for a hack while possibly causing some damage. Siege pulse can keep you alive or set off various tech burst. The geth turret at worst is a useful decoy with some heals at best kills the little things.
Fort the players: As stated the problem isn't the Juggernaut it's the puggernaut. I have watched Jugs melt bosses with a reegar or harrier burst with incendiary rounds followed by the pulse. The phantom that was about to sync someone, dangled helplessly. A good juggernaut is invaluable. What players need to remember (myself included) is while the juggernaut can tank and keep itself alive, it's a magnet for trouble. With slow speed and the inability to take hard cover (legitimately) any exposed flank with a hard hitting shooter, or just enough basic troops will tear the juggernaut apart like any other class.
Edit: so the trick seems to be watch your juggernaut teammates butt as would a squishy and hope they can find a favorable map location that's in the action but not exposed every direction.

Players consistently placing their Hex Shields in inappropriate places can be annoying even if you do have piercing on your weapon. Unless you have 100% AP then your shots will still suffer a (sometimes significant) damage penalty when firing through the misplaced Hex Shield.

And during that time, you can't take damage from the enemies on the other side of the shield. Unless you're speedrunning, I fail to see the issue, and if you ARE speedrunning, why does your team include a class that can't get to the spawns quickly?

While I can't speak for other people, I think the point Cato is trying to make is there's a difference between dropping the hex shield for defense and the herp-a-derp placement. If the case is suicide drone oh crap there's 2 ravagers over there so the Jugg drops the shield to cover that angle, oh well you don't want to be killing at this time anyhow. On the other hand it's a start of a normal wave and the enemies are funneling into this hallway I'll drop the hex shield in front of them, then that's more of a nuisance as it slows down the fight and could block a potentially useful missile depending on the wave composition. Unfortunately most Juggs and their shield deployment tend to fall under the latter.
If speed run is the name of the game, however, Ranylyn I will agree with you the Juggernaut does not make sense.

If I'm firing at the enemies then that means I'm probably in RHA and can't take damage from the enemies anyway. So in those cases the misplaced Hex Shield provides no advantage at all.
Anyway, I was only trying to counter your argument that players could only be annoyed by a misplaced Hex Shield if they weren't using any armour piercing, which isn't true.
I've seen them like 4 times in last two
monthslobbies I have joined. Gold and below.
Fixed this to more accurately describe my experience.
I dont get the pug love for the puggernaut. If it was just wanting to pick the easiest kit, than why not AIU or TGI, whom unlike the jugg do not require you to be in melee range to use your I win button? Sync kills probably...
I don't mind them at all if they are played even remotely decent. They let me easily smash all the mooks without constant banshee screams in my ear
Sync kills and....... Drell stealing all their grenades. And not having any grenade capacity gear so they can only carry like 2 stim packs. And not having any decent weapons (because when your best AR is a Phaeston VII, your TGI is still going to suck).
