Loved the first one, hated the second one. Couldn't even bother finishing it.

But why?

If it's the gameplay then fine, whatever, I'm not going to pick your bone over that.

But you can't really say with a straight face "it had a rubbish story."

Yes, but great story struggles to succeed when the execution is terrible.

Not exactly fair to the presentation (graphics and animation in the game are stunning!), admittedly, but the passion of delivery? All I can say is I was equally moved by both.

It was the gameplay mostly, didn't find the story anything spectacular, but it wasn't bad either. Simply hated the gameplay and think it is far too overhyped, though that applies for anything CD does these days.

Personally I thought the Witcher 2's gameplay was a lot more fun than its predeccessor's, which basically consisted of "click 2 win".

Gameplay, sure. I don't mind because gameplay falls in the line of preference.

But you never finished it so you're really missing out on some brilliant story telling. I'd say forget the gameplay, go on easy and just have fun with everything else.

Eh, I preferred the stance dancing and combo's in Witcher 1 to the roll spamming of Witcher 2. Neither game had what I consider to be entertaining or satisfying combat though.

I meant the game as a whole is overhyped.

I've tried going back to it afterwards, but now I don't even make it as far as I did last time. It just feels wrong. I don't like, nor will I play it or any Witchers that come from now on. I can get my fix elsewhere.
