We have been told that we can have our own heraldry and it appears that if we wish we can have a chantry building within the complex. So will we be able to have our own iconography? Specifically I'm thinking of the "heresy of Shartan". As someone who usually plays an elf, the revelation in DAO that the verses relating to Shartan had been removed from the Chant had me incensed. Then in Masked Empire it was revealed that all imagery showing him had either been destroyed or altered so that he appeared more human.
So as an elven Inquisitor I would have no objection to allowing a chantry building provided it promoted the complete Chant. However, a picture says a thousand words, particularly when many of the worshipers are illiterate, so iconography showing Shartan and his elves aiding Andraste in her crusade would be very useful in reminding people of the part they played. The Divine who removed him was obviously aware of this fact which was why she had them removed but even Chantry scholars admit that without his intervention the Battle of Valarian Fields might well have gone the other way. In other words all the human nations now free of the rule of Tevinter and indeed the Chantry itself, owe their existence to Shartan.
Since it would appear I am also to be called the Herald of Andraste, a picture showing Andraste handing the sword Glandevalis to Shartan would also be rather appropriate in reinforcing the idea that my leadership of the Inquisition had come from Andraste herself. So any chance of iconography along these lines?
