We've all heard Shepard saying such idiotic lines, like "I thought asari needed other species to reproduce" :D

Can you share such lines and methods to avoid them so Shepard doesn't look like a complete idiot? :)

"Nobody messes with my girl!"  (defending Liara to her father)

Can be avoided by picking renegade option "Good thinking" instead of "You should relax more" when she says that "We should stock up on necessities while we can"

"You mean, you were her other mother, right?" followed with "Sorry, if you were human, you'd both be called the mother regardless of which one gave the birth" (when talking to Matriarch Aethyta on the Presidium)

Can be avoided by not selecting "Her father?" option when talking to Matriarch Aethyta

"On Liara's behalf, I'm offended!" (Said to Wreav on Sur'Kesh when he mentions "That's like asking if an asari is ready to mate")

Can be avoided by not picking "The Reapers" option in Investigate, or having Wrex instead.

"I'm going to regret this/I'd better not regret this" (Said by Ashley/Kaidan if they side with you unconditionally during the end of Priority: Citadel II)

Can be avoided by making a few mistakes in their relationship values and choosing Paragon/Renegade options afterwards (unless you want them dead, of course)

"The next time we go to war, maybe the Allaince can spring for support." Said by Liara on Thessia when you clear up enemies left after the gunship attack.

Can be avoided by rushing through the area without clearing it out and killing enemies from behind.

A bullet to the head doesn't solve everything.

That can be avoided by being renegade. :)

"Nobody messes with my girl!"  (defending Liara to her father). Worst line in the game...

I guess it could be avoided by not romancing Liara or simply not speaking to her father. I don't remember if it comes from a dialogue choice or if it was autodialogue, though.

I believe there is a bug with it, you always say that whether you do or do not romance Liara. Doesn't it come during a renegade interrupt?

According to what I've seen, this line shows up if you either

A.) Romance Liara (it's a stupid line, but it makes sense in this case)

-or-

B.) You don't romance anyone (where it's completely stupid

To avoid the line, you have to romance someone. Not Kelly, though.

Other stupid lines

"On Liara's behalf, I'm offended!" (Said to Wreav on Sur'Kesh, showing that Shepard has to always stand up for the blue nightmare.)

"You know me best, Liara" (Said during Liara's beacon things when you invite her up to the cabin. To avoid, say "Tell the truth" or "Make me inspiring")

"I'm going to regret this/I'd better not regret this" (Said by Ashley/Kaidan if they side with you unconditionally during the end of Priority: Citadel II. To avoid, make a few mistakes in their relationship values, so they say "This isn't going to end well. Just...put the gun down." Pick either the Paragon or Renegade choice and either call their bluff or point out that they know this whole thing is suspicious, and do what they know to be right)

It's tied to the conversation with Liara on the presidium where she tasks you with contacting Barla Von over the fetch-quest mercs in that system neighboring Tuchanka. If you tell her she should relax more (top of the wheel, which a lot of people choose by default), the Aethyta conversation will play out as though you're romancing her, regardless of whether you're romancing someone else. If you choose the bottom option ("Practical. I like it.") then you won't get the "my girl" dialogue. Try not to panic, choosing the bottom option won't give you any red meanie points.

Yeah. After I heard that, I don't talk with Wreav on Sur'Kesh. Too bad Shepard couldn't agree with Wreav

Never had that line of dialogue. At least I've never noticed it.

If you don't take Liara on the mission and ask Wreav about fighting the reapers, he will say "its like asking an Asari if they're ready  to mate( I believe thats the words) at that point Shepard will say, On liara's behalf, consider me offended. I have not been able to fine this on youtube or anywhere else. I've seen the responses from other squadmates, but not Shepard

That one is best avoided by keeping Wrex alive in ME1.

Unless you're doing a playthrough to explore options you haven't chosen before, there's no reason to go with Wreav over Wrex. He's an inferior replacement overall. Really the only replacement character that is as interesting as the character he or she replaces is Padok Wiks.

That's not intended as a criticism of the wrtiers by the way. I think Wreav is fully intended to be 800 lbs of douche.

Wreav is well written in the beginning... the meeting on the Normandy with the Dalatrass and the Primarch is a well-done different perspective from Wrex's. Yeah, you see Wreav is an a**hole but he's supposed to be... Once you get onto Tuchanka for the last of it, he turns into the clan Weyrloc speaker from ME2, only you can't light him on fire.  <_<

It can also show up even if you romance someone not Liara.

In that case, the way to avoid it is:

When you first talk to Liara on the Citadel, and she's making lists of needed supplies and such.  You have a dialogue option to (Paragon) "Take a break" or (Renegade) "I approve"

Take the renegade option.  The paragon chocie seems to mess up the Aethyta conversation to assume Shep and Liara are an item.

But we're looking at the canon Shepard as being a dumb ass. Her CO is a dumber ass. So I'm deliberately seeking out the bad lines now for laughs. If they're there, Shepard says them. They're indicative of Shepard's IQ.

One thing that was missing from the Refuse ending was Shepard living by her own words - a bullet in the head solves everything. She should have put the gun to her head.

You can avoid that line, yes, but the story is infinitely better and significantly less cliche with Wreav in charge.

The only reason I see to choose Wreav is if you don't want to cure the genophage. I cure it, but also save the Rachni - they serve as a good holding force for krogan urges :) I also can't bear killing Wrex - dude is so much more interesting character than Wreav.

I've edited the post to include people's suggestions, keep them coming! :)

Added them. I didn't add "You know me best" line because Shepard actually says "You know me well enough to fill in the blanks" which looks normal to me :)

On Thessia, Liara says, "The next time we go to war, maybe the Allaince can spring for support." I really wish there was a renegade interrupt for that crap. To avoid that line, run far enough ahead, avoiding the enemies in the immediate area, that the dialogue will not occur. What triggers the dialogue is killing all the enemies after talking with the Asari.

Wait, how do you run past all those enemies without dying? (Assuming you're not an Infiltrator)

Very carefully. I did it on an insanity run. I killed the banshee, had the squadmate fire on 2 marauders and when they went to cover, I started running towards the ravager that was at the top. Killed it and that's when I heard some dialogue from the pilot of the gunship and nothing from Liara. I believe I was playing as an adept and had Liara, for the mission, and Ashley.

Added :) I'll have to try it. Why the Alliance needs to give support to Thessia when they are busy fighting on many fronts, including their own homeworld, is beyond me.

Earth fell in hours and the Alliance already abandoned earth at this point.

Thessia on the other hand is described as a "vital military asset" because of the fast mass-relay access to the Citadel. Thessia also ensures that the galaxy's supply of eezo is maintained during the war. Reinforcing the planet (as it was a option in the leaked script) would have been a good idea.
