Earth fell in hours and the Alliance already abandoned earth at this point.

Thessia on the other hand is described as a "vital military asset" because of the fast mass-relay access to the Citadel. Thessia also ensures that the galaxy's supply of eezo is maintained during the war. Reinforcing the planet (as it was a option in the leaked script) would have been a good idea.

The Asari waited till the last moment to reveal the artifact, calling in air support at that time would be stupid since the planet was already being overrun with reaper ground forces and the reapers themselves. Had they revealed the artifact earlier and called in air support where the resistance may not of been as  heavy, air support might've helped.

The Alliance does have forces fighting on Earth and Anderson leads them.

Speaking of air support, where are the asari ships? According to war assets, asari second and sixth fleets are quite strong, as strong as any Alliance fleet. Why don't we only see them in the final battle?

Extracting eezo and shipping it off planet while under the Reaper attack? Problematic, even if the resistance is strong

Yes, but no fleets. Text within the game's codex reveals that Hackett sacrificed at least one fleet in order to secure the retreat of others. All we have is some guerilla warfare in rural areas against reaper ground forces (Anderson did say the reapers were focusing on major urban areas at first while at the same time they were pretty much ignoring rural areas, so thats how people managed to stay alive). And if we take the multiplayer storyline as canon, the alliance and Hackett are sending reinforcements to Thessia (no fleets of course)...so Liara's comment isn't that stupid. Or maybe she simply meant that the Kodiaks could have potentially served as air support on their way to the temple.

You're probably right about the eezo. But after losing Thessia you have the Reaper Fleet on the doorstep of the Citadel (which controlled the mass relay network)...that's not good.

We don't see many asari ships, that's true. My guess is that Bioware never made a firing animation for them ^_^

Liara's comment is stupid. One for thinking there will be another war after the reapers and two for saying the Alliance provide air support when the planet is already being overrun. The air support would not of made any difference. Also, why did she single out the Alliance? Why couldn't she say the Turian provide air support or the Salarians or some other species?

I never even saw anything on the Destiny Ascension which resembled a weapon.

It doesn't shoot though. That's the dreadnought from behind it.

Asari big ships don't shoot in ME3 either :D

They sap away enemy shields with their ornateness.

In all seriousness I assume they launch projectiles from inside that big concave opening thing.

Me too, I always thought that's the main gun that "can rip through the shields of any ship in the Alliance fleet" :) Sadly we never see it firing :(

Yes it does, timeframe 29. You can see a projectile emerge from the 'wing'.

You do see 3, might be 4, missiles firing from the wings thats all. I would like to see its main gun fire.  As mentioned above, no Asari ships are seen firing missiles or the main gun firing at the reapers in ME3.

The projectile emerges from behind the wing, from that turian dreadnought. The trace is barely visible but it is there

Added :) I'll have to try it. Why the Alliance needs to give support to Thessia when they are busy fighting on many fronts, including their own homeworld, is beyond me.

I wouldn't really see much sense in giving support to Thessia itself, but rather Shepard's team when heading to the temple. After all, of all the current objectives being undertaken at the time, this one is the most important, as the war hinges on whatever Shepard & co actually recover.

Asinine scene from ME2:

Liara: "Shepard! Nyxeris, hold my calls!" *hugz* *longing sigh* "Shepard..."
Me: *spacebar*... *spacebar* *spacebar* *spacebar* *SPACEBAR*

Method of avoidance: impossible. Key used to skip cutscenes is disabled for the duration until they start talking again. Reason unknown.

Anyone noticed how Tali's knife is just a mini version of a Phantom's sword?

You also get another what-the-crap hug when she's on the Normandy. To avoid it, don't invite her on the Normandy or don't play the broker dlc

Come on guys, let’s not start another waifu war….

*grabs chips and a fresh beer*

EDIT: On a more relevant note:

It's tied to the conversation with Liara on the presidium where she tasks you with contacting Barla Von over the fetch-quest mercs in that system neighboring Tuchanka. If you tell her she should relax more (top of the wheel, which a lot of people choose by default), the Aethyta conversation will play out as though you're romancing her, regardless of whether you're romancing someone else. If you choose the bottom option ("Practical. I like it.") then you won't get the "my girl" dialogue. Try not to panic, choosing the bottom option won't give you any red meanie points.

I would like to add something to this. I still got the "No one messes with my girl" line with even though I chose the "Practical. I like it" line earlier. This was one of my play-throughs where I was romancing Tali. I think it's also tied to how you respond to Liara on Mars and during the one scene on the Normandy in which Liara and Shepard are discussing the Crucible. She asks Shepard how he/she is able to remain calm and focused(Paraphrased. Can't remember the actual words used). I chose the upper left option at the time(partly because of a force of habit(COOKIE!!!), partly because of RP reasons).

In short, choose the bottom right hand responses(for the most part) when talking to Liara prior to meeting with Matriarch Aethyta to avoid the line. Or lock in your LI of choice before as well.
