She looks so sad with her invisible rock :(

Not as sad as when Shepard sided with the Geth.

Come on guys, let’s not start another waifu war….

*grabs chips and a fresh beer*

EDIT: On a more relevant note:

I would like to add something to this. I still got the "No one messes with my girl" line with even though I chose the "Practical. I like it" line earlier. This was one of my play-throughs where I was romancing Tali. I think it's also tied to how you respond to Liara on Mars and during the one scene on the Normandy in which Liara and Shepard are discussing the Crucible. She asks Shepard how he/she is able to remain calm and focused(Paraphrased. Can't remember the actual words used). I chose the upper left option at the time(partly because of a force of habit(COOKIE!!!), partly because of RP reasons).

In short, choose the bottom right hand responses(for the most part) when talking to Liara prior to meeting with Matriarch Aethyta to avoid the line. Or lock in your LI of choice before as well.

My LI of choice is Jack :) Does that count?

Yeah. Just make sure you "lock-in" the romance at purgatory with Jack prior to talking with Aethyta.

Huh. Honestly, I've never encountered "my girl," so you might be onto something. My canon Shepard chose the "I think your work here was more important" and "You did what you had to. We need to keep moving." options on Mars. Cerberus has a head start to the archives; not the best time to stand around and salve a bruised ego.

Somehow I think it'd be a bit more spectacular than Melancholia depicts it, but what the hell:

There is one small problem with that scene.

They'd be killed long before by that planet's gravity, maybe ripped in half between its and Earth's pull. A bit less poetic though.

Not to ruin the fun, but it appears that this little tangent has run its course(it was better than the alternative anyways).

I am surprised that this little tid-bit hasn't been discussed yet.

There is one section in ME1 that really makes Shepard look like a dumb a**, and it can't be avoided(unless you don't talk to said individual at all). It's when you first talk to Wrex on the Normandy.

Wrex: "Well, there was this one time when the turians almost wiped out our entire race. That was fun"

I-r-Shepard-"I heard about that. You know, they almost did the same to us."

Wrex: "It's not the same!"

I-r-Shepard-"It seems pretty much the same to me."

Wrex: "So your people were infected with a genetic mutation? An infection that makes only a few in a thousand children survive birth? And I suppose it's destroying your entire species?"

:pinched:

The only way I can think of avoiding that line is just choose the "have it your way" option and not talk to Wrex again until after one of the main storyline missions is completed. (Don't hold me to that though. I haven't actually tested it)

Is Shepard a college graduate?

I mean, s/he joined up at 18, and in 2/3 options was either a farmer or an impoverished gangbanger. The Spacer probably has had a quality high-school level education, but I don't think Shep has been to college. Not that college is the best thing or is a must-have.

EDIT-Fair point, it was just the first thing that came to mind. I went with "I-r-Shepard" instead

Always amuses me when you Americans use the term gangbanger, as it means something completely different over here :D
