I admit i haven\t paid much attention to the actual looks of the few dwarves we've seen, but i am curious if those long chimp like arms from origins are going to make a come back. i remember thinking, "that looks so wrong." i remember looking at one of Varrics images of him holding Bianca but it looked some what cropped so i couldn't tell if his legs were longer or not. I'm fearful of this because it really throws off my aesthetic appeasement? when it comes to looking at Dwarves. I get they are short so that translate into stocky frames but the long chimpanzee arms is kind of much, or maybe its all in my head and thats how shorter people look? I hope when I roll a dwarf this isn't the case, i want my dwarf to have appropriate sized limbs. lol ![]()
Are dwarves going to have those weird long arms again?

Well if you have the Gray Warden armor mod in DAO the female Dwarf version dose not have the long arms. And it looks WAY worse. But I thought the Dwarves looks fine in DAO so yeah.

The dwarves in DAO looked fine to me, the arms didn't bother me. Looking at scout harding for an example, I'd say the Dwarves in DAI will look great!

That scout is SO going to make my Dwarf Inquisitor all sad he is forever alone.... I think he might become a stalker.

Anyway, I do believe that it wasn't truly a design decision to make dwarves have longer arms but merely a side effect of using the same armor model for all races in DAO. The races in DAO all use the human armor model, slightly resized to fit on the frame but since dwarves have shorter legs this will result in the arms looking out of proportion. I believe you can see the length of arms changing if you take the armor off. There is no telling what BioWare did this time around until we get to play the game.

Well I liked the longer arms, made them less human and more their own species.

I thought the longer arms looked right because their bodies were so stout. IMO Dwarves look better with longer, more powerful arms to go with their small bodies. If they had shorter arms they would not be very good miners and wouldn't look nearly as intimidating.

Agree. I liked the design of the Dwarves a lot in DAO. Most of them in DA2 just looked short and fat...

i do indeed have the mod, if its the same one, but i never liked using it after the first couple of play throughs, it felt cheap and kind of made it feel like you didn't need to look for the better armors. Still i never really wore it on my dwarves.

The arms didn't bother me, the hands did but it wasn't something exclusive to dwarves, although it was more noticeable on them, ALL races had oversized hands in DAO.

Personally, I thought that the dwarves' hands were in the correct proportions to their massive arms. Those huge hands looked absolutely ridiculous on elves, however. In the Joining, they replace whatever gloves you were wearing with bare hands for the cutscene, and they are nearly as big as the elven Warden's head! ![]()

LOL. DAO hands were for me one of those things that once noticed you can't stop seeing. Maybe dwarf hands weren't that bad but by the the time I got around to playing a dwarf I'd reached a place of being very weirded out by them.
I think it was around this time I drifted away from DAO.
