But yes, the sad thing about Isseya is not only is she forgotten but if her deeds were known, they'd probably HURT the elven cause and prestige.
What makes you say that?

Blackwall is already better than her too
It's an unpopular opinion but I think Blackwall is going to get into a lot of arguments with my Inquisitor.
"The Wardens should protect the innocent!"
"Neutrality is kind of important as we see with Sophia Dryden."
Still, I can understand why no one likes being a Warden just after a Blight.
Short-lifespan for nothing.
Kind of like the Warden if Alistair dies killing Urthemiel.
Or Loghain though in his case, it seems more a case where he's remembered more for killing the archdemon than his past crimes. Heck, a reason to not let him kill the archdemon if you bring him along is telling him you don't want him to be remembered as the guy who killed the archdemon after everything he's done.
What makes you say that?
Blood Mage.
Destroying the Griffons.
Just the Blood Magic part would taint Garahel's legend and make it clear he was victorious through evil sorcery.
I don't think it has to be Isseya vs Garahel vs Fiona
You really can't. The City Elf has no idea who Garahel is until Duncan tell him/her.
Garahel puts his money where his mouth is.
In plenty of seedier books, we have women forced to use their sexuality for a cause.
In Garahel's case, he's willing to be prostituted to stop the Blight.
He's not just all-talk.
Question, where did all the Fiona hate come from? Sure, I'm not keen on her deserting her post, but I get the feeling there's more to it.

I actually don't hate Fiona but the short version is they feel like she's infringing on the stories of beloved characters.
1. She infringes on Alistair's story of being a half-peasant bastard.
2. She infringes on the story of the Grey Wardens being tragic people who will all die by being miraculously cured. Then she just leaves despite Wardens being Wardens because they want to die for a worthy cause and willing to kill for their secrets.
3. She infringes on the Magentos of the setting by being a heretofore unheard of Grand Enchanter who wants to liberate the Circles. This takes away from Mage Warden, Mage Hawke, and Anders.
4. They dislike how she feels like a collection of descriptions than a character being an ex-City Elf slave turned Mage turned Warden turned Circle Enchanter turned leader of the Liberationalists who is also the mother of a major beloved character despite said character's mother already being established.
I'd like to know that too, Palidane. I think she's a pretty interesting character.

It's a long long long story.
But really, Fiona and Adrian can go burn in a tire fire.

Here's an old post I made on the same subject to someone asking a similar question:
She appeared in the second novel/media Dragon Age first showed up as. She was a grey warden who used to be an elven slave that was sexually abused who was then later on turned into the circle after getting magic talents. In the novel, she has sex with Maric and gives birth to Alistair at the end. She also somehow stopped being a Grey Warden when she lost the taint through some demon possession thing. Later on in Asunder, she talks about how she came back to the circle because something needed to be fixed and she's now the grand enchanter.
Most people's accusations of a sue come from the fact that she's a cured grey warden, head enchanter, and mother to quite possibly the king of Ferelden.
Willowhugger's post is also a good addition.

Meh, knowing Adrian she'd manage to survive the fire.
Hrm, I have thoughts about that, but...I really don't want to turn the Last Flight thread into a Fiona debate thread, XD. Or...Adrian...who I also like....*hides*
Isseya is so great. I also really loved...Reimas, is that right? The lady templar? The story about her dad was so sad. I liked those rogue templars in general, they added a lot more to the T v M conflict without actually taking up much page space.

My one caveat with this story is that we spent more time in the past than we did learning about the current workings of the Wardens in the present, which is what I am very interested in. I also would have liked to learn more about those Templars.

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts here.
We need some pro-Fiona.

Agreed, although I did think it a little strange.
We know that there are 300 Orlesian Grey Wardens in Montsimmard, so you would think the Templars would just go to them instead of trekking all the way to Weisshaupt fortress. And why sign up with the Wardens anyway? Surely any number of other organizations would be willing to take in rogue Templars.
I think we need Isseya and Garahel fan art ![]()

it probably already exists

I'm not so sure about that because:
1. The Wardens can pardon the Templars for desertion.
2. The Wardens have access to Lyrium.
...what type of fanarts are you talking about?
Just plain fanart of the characters

...
Oh.
OH.
It's more than that. Doesn't the Taint provide magical power in a similar way to Lyrium?
Maybe that's why Alistair thought Templar's didn't need Lyrium, as he had an alternative power source...
A Templar might not even need Lyrium to maintain their powers after being made a Warden.
I don't think so. Alistair in the comics said he had to take lyrium again....
