Is it safe to say that Isseya is one of the greatest mages of all time if not the most underrated? A great Warden too. Nothing but respect for that character.
I loved her as a character. Maybe she'll get a nod or two in the game.

Hope so. She was the true hero of the Fourth Blight. Her innovation in blood magic and the Joining won the day. The price she paid for it.
As of now she seems to have been lost to history. Valya, Caronel, and Reimas not withstanding. Maybe she'll be honored as the Savior of the Griffons or something. Seems fitting despite her hand in their fall.
1/4 through the book and i like this book. hopefully, it would be connected to DAI.

I wouldn't go that far. It seemed like Garahel was still the hero - he was the one doing the same thing our Warden does (flying back and forth creating alliances, doing favors, playing politics.. in addition to commanding the military). It's just that we never really get his point of view.
I doubt that we will get any mounts just because of the recency (it's a word), but I am pretty ecstatic about the prospect of them fitting that back in.
Top priority is to get Carver one so he can swoop Merril of her feet.
Swooping is bad!

....No.
....No.
Right, Carver can do better.

Carver can go make sweet passionate love to an ogre.
I'm shocked that there seems to be little discussion of the book's non-blood magic or griffon-related revelation:
Spoiler
I almost forgot about it.. it was kind of passed over as just background. It must be just to prep us for something new..maybe in the game?

*cough*
I'm joining this discussion late. Has anyone discussed whether they believe that the griffons will be one of the exotic mounts to be found in DAI? They were reintroduced at the end of the novel, Dragon Age: Last Flight!
Sadly, it has been confirmed already that there will be no griffon mounts:

the griffons will be back in DA4 as mounts for the sixth blight!
Uh, how would we have griffon mounts ...
From reading the wiki, looks like the griffins may return.
Sadly, it has been confirmed already that there will be no griffon mounts:
He spelled it gryphones not griffons....(Grasps at straws)
One can only hope.
ok, i have finished the book and i like it better than the masked empire because it is about the blight and grey warden and magic and best of all griffons!!! i do remember irritating Wynne with my fascination of the griffions!
not very sure if the 13 griffons are going to survive but the book mention a woman being dragged off to become broodmothers. aren't they secrets that no one knows?
but it does seem a bit of a sketch that nobody discover the eggs for 400 hundred years.
If we ever get to ride a griffon in DA game, I dearly hope it will be a core part of game design. Don't squander their splendor as a mount that is essentially just a speed buff.
Hi guys, I've just get all the DA novels. On which order are you suggesting me to start? I've played both DAO and DA2, and can't wait to read Asunder and Last Flight if it's OK to skip other novels.
What's your suggestions?
Stolen Throne should be read before the Calling. The two are linked to each other but not really to the other novels, a character from the Calling makes a brief appearance in Asunder. They provide further depth to a Origins/Awakening playthrough.Hi guys, I've just get all the DA novels. On which order are you suggesting me to start? I've just finished reading this and am still crying. A book hasn't made me cry for a good long time, but this had me going a few times. I loved it far more than I was expecting to. It had some of the most devastatingly sad moments, and so much hope at the end. Wonderful.
