I thought one of the Templars that became Wardens was a dwarf?
@Eluvianix Rex: If you ate Warden every morning... you'd be doing fine too.
Huh. I'll be damned...but wait. Avernus has been using blood magic for like a century and he seems to be going pretty strong still...
when you dig a hole so deep you manage to dig your way out
@Eluvianix Rex: If you ate Warden every morning... you'd be doing fine too.
True. He might be an exception. That said, perhaps this reinforces the link between the Fade and the Taint if blood magic can accelerate the taint in your body.

Spoiler
@Eluvianix Rex: Well - if the Taint is in the blood, and the Taint is connected to the Black City - it might mean you're actually forming a stronger connection with the Black City/Taint every time you use blood magic.
Is that what Darkspawn do? We're told they're not connected to the Fade. I wonder if they're pretty exclusively blood mages using their tainted blood.
Spoiler
That was me. But I guess he never made it to Warden. I distinctly remember the protagonist go out of her way to mention him.

Not sure if all of these were known aspects of DA lore but they were new to me.
My mage Warden is now grateful she speced in Arcane Warrior/Battlemage/Keeper ![]()
Ahh, so this book will cause all the blood mages to cry: "Retcon" eh?
I will fill a goblet with their tears and sup heartily!

Lol, it doesn't sound like a retcon to me. It sounds exactly like how blood magic should act.
So......will someone post total spoilers? I'm in a camp about 5hrs from civilization, and I gots to know!!! Pretty please and thank you
I don't want to spill the beans until at least some other people have read the whole thing.
@Eluvianus Rex: Oh, I totally think that's how blood mages have been presented all along... I think that's what PC blood mages should have been exposed to in their gameplays too.
Regular mages have all the lights on in the house - already drawing in demons.
Blood mages put a "Vacancy" sign on the door.

Also - fantasy tropes must be observed.
There are griffons - or griffon eggs in this book (I have no real idea).
Griffons will return to Dragon Age for the last Blight which will involve both (the last two) Archdaemons and be maddeningly destructive (that's what I'd do for the last game in the "Dragon Age" series)

It sounds like a retcon considering what the DA2 spec says about it.
"They're here.... "
"They're here.... "
?
Oh, I get it now.
"They're here.... "
I'll get the snacks.

Does it say when in 9:42 the story ends?
Does it say when in 9:42 the story ends?
No. But it seems to be cold at the end of the book. Winter I guess? It's the Anderfels, so I'm not sure if they have 4 seasons or just various degrees of dust storm. No specific month is mentioned or anything.
Edit: Actually, it's always a dusty mess in the Anderfels, and it is at the end of the book, so I have no idea what time of year it could be.
so what you mean is "winter may or may not be coming"
It sounds like a retcon considering what the DA2 spec says about it.
It sounds completely contradictory. Previously, the lore on blood magic read, "Nothing inspires as much wild-eyed terror as the Blood Mage. Mages of this type take the raw energy of life and twist it to their own purposes. They can corrupt and control, and sustain their power by consuming the health of others, willing or not. The effects can be vile, but this specialization isn't limited to madmen and monsters. Many see it as the only form of magic that is truly free, because it's tied to the physical, not favors to spirits or demons."
@LobselVith8: You think you're doing the demons favors?
They're trying to claw their way in... they're not giving you anything.
Any mage draws demons - blood magic is just chum in the water.
It isn't contradictory AT ALL.
Are there any references to past characters or Inquisition companions? I know Vivienne got titledropped in TME.
